Have I Been Diagnosed with BFS?

I've been reading posts by people who say they have BFS. I'm wondering how many people on this forum have actually have been diagnosed with BFS by a neuro, GP, etc?

Myself, I wouldn't go as far to say I have BFS...more like a bad case of anxiety unless a doctor has told me otherwise.

Your thoughts...

Thanks, Gary.

I may be misinformed, but I didn't think a lot of neuros knew about BFS. How did you receive your dx? Was is a process of elimination? What was the doctor's comments on BFS, etc. etc. etc.

I have been diagnosed by a neuro with Fasciculation Syndrome. I'm assuming he meant Benign Fasciculation Syndrome as I know of no other Fasciculation Syndrome. :D)

Ive been diagnosed with Beninign Fasciculation Syndrome by my neurologist. i read it in my chart. Patient suffers from Benign Fasciculation Syndrome. and i was also told by my neuro i had benign fascics..I had every test in the book.. EEG MRI EMG and bloodwork.

Specialized,

It really wasn't a process for my neuro to make the dx. He actually said BFS after the physical exam and prior to emg. During that initial physical exam, he said no als and that it was BFS. He scheduled an emg to confirm the dx, and that was it. Of course he did bloodwork probably just to cover his a$$.

I believe that most neuro-muscular disease specialists (which he is) are aware of BFS, and many of your run of the mill neuro's are not.
