Has anyone experienced twitching?

My twitching began about 6 weeks ago in my left thigh, now it is everywhere. No real weakness (only percieved), but lots of anxiety. I'm a little sore from testing my strength every 20 minutes. I don't think I have ever tried to open a jar with my non dominant hand before until yesterday. I also have never paid so much attention to the way I have walked before. My questions are, has anyone ever had twitching on the top of their hand, just below their knuckles? Or what about your shins or the tops of your feet? I generally due pretty well until this areas began to fasiculate. Also how long does the fatigue last for? I'm seeing my GP now, and I am in line to see a neuro. Any advice, comments would be very appreciated.

I had sudden onset bodywide twitching just like you 16 months ago. I have had the twitching everywhere including the areas you describe. You cannot learn anything about what is going on based on where the twitches happen or even what they look or feel like. If they are only in one spot or on one side of the body then maybe this info is helpful but if they are bodywide then location and nature tells neuros nothing based on my experience with many, many of them. I would recommend getting an ANA titre and other blood tests that might show immune problems or deficiencies that could cause neurological problems. These may not lead to definite answers. They did not in my case but the did provide some clues that my problem is immune-related. I hope these tests are covered for you by insurance, etc. If so they are definitely worth having since they take little time to do and are risk free.I don't know what to say about the fatigue question. Everyone has fatigue. If something negative is going on in your life or happening to your body, this will cause fatigue. Weakness is another story. Try to be more specific about this issue and maybe we can't help you better. Describe something you tried to do but could not or could not in the same way as before. One time problems are not helpful. It is the constant inability to do something that should concern you. If you are just a bit tired, this is probably not very helpful diagnostically although it is probably certainly connected to what you are going through. It is, as we all know, very alarming even though it is likely to turn out that everything is ok but maybe just strange.

Okie, sorry to hear... a 2 1/2 year BFSer myself. I would be curious to know if you did anything different in the weeks prior to the condition starting. Were you ill? Did you take any antibiotics? Do you remember doing anything out of the ordinary prior to the twitches starting? I think it's always interesting to hear what people did just prior to the onslaught. Thanks.
