Happy New Year Twitching Poll

Happy New Year everybody!Just wanted to take a poll:Where do you guys twitch the most?Where do you twitch that scares you the most? How have your twitches evolved overtime? I was twitching mostly in my calves, big thumping twitches when this all began. Spread rather quickly, but my twitches have changed location and intensity over the past month or so...More light, vibrating types of twitches, especially in my ankles.I think it scares me the most when my chest or jaw twitches :(

My calves and feet are the worst. My right foot twitches non stop on the side. I get twitches all over my body but the worst is definitly calves and feet. I really don't think there is a place that I haven't twitched.

My hot spots are definitely my feet and legs....shoulder blades and chest twitch pretty regularly as well. Usually if my arms twitch they go on for days in the same spot. The feet are weird because I can't usually feel the twitching , but they are visible at all times. I don't think I have one body part that hasn't twitched or buzzed.Cheers :)

calves and feet most frequentfingers most annoyingthighs largest thumpschest and stomach most scareyinside ear is weirdestforearms most painfulBFS SUCKS

Calves most frequent. Hot spots seems to move around over time.Scariest for me are my sometimes shaky hands. Most annoying, though, are the cramping I get in my feet.

Forgot to add about twitches evolving. Mine have evolved and progressed. Im concerned when the progression will stop. I have always been very worried about how the twitching started in my right calf then the left and moved its way up my legs to my butt to my stomach. It also moved from my biceps to my forearms. Now I have them shoulders to toes. I am about 7 months into this crap. I just had my 3rd emg on Dec 22nd by an ALS specialist and he told me no evidence of the nasty what-so-ever.Iwas so surprised because of how everything had progressed. Ive started getting cramping more in the past 2 months. Fingers and toes have gotten much worse in the past month. Most people it seems get a bit better after a few months. Im still waiting....

Where do you guys twitch the most?in my legs, mostly calves and around my knees. Where do you twitch that scares you the most?finger twitches. on new years eve i had a very fast constant twitch in the muscle between thumb and index finger. moved my finger towards the tumb. it scared the **** out of me! had finger twitches before (twitching started with a thumb twitch), but not the constatntly firing ones, i was very relieved when it went away 12 hrs later....How have your twitches evolved overtime? twitching is still bodywide, 70% right side of the body. random twitches througout the day, hotspots change every 1-3 days, hotspots are mostly my feet, shoulder area, knees, hands, tongue. all in all twitching has decreased a bit and changed intensity to more fine and fluttering, sometimes buzzing ones although i still get thumpers.

Where do you guys twitch the most? = calves then feetWhere do you twitch that scares you the most? = hands, quadsHow have your twitches evolved overtime? = continually changing over almost 16 months although the calves and feet have been a constantRegardsSimon

I twitch most in my legs and around my rib cage/underarm area.My scariest twitches are my tongue twitches. My most painful are my forearm twitches too.My twitches have reduced in intensity due to taking Klonopin regularly and maybe due to taking l-carnitine. I still twitch systemically meaning I get twitches or feel nerve tingling, vibrating, or buzzing somewhere almost constantly and in all parts of the body on a daily basis. It started with an eye twitch, then the calves, then literally everywhere in weeks. The constant twitch in my left hand is the only sign I believe anyone other than me would notice and the hand is only noticeable if I point it out.

Where do I twitch the most? Exactly where Jro twitches, my sides, under my arms, including calfs, fingers and feet. What twitches scare me? The rapid, big muscle ones that move a body part. Or ones in my hands.Havr your twitches evolved? I am..not really..sure? For years since I was 9, I always complained of twitching being troublesome, always using answers.yahoo to figure out why did I twitch 30-40 times a day. Then one day I got a twitch in my foot that drove me bananas :( I panicked for hours and evenutally fell asleep, I was sooo dehydrated. Ever since that day, I've been waking up, thinking of the twitches 24/7, not one minute when im not thinking of them. They flare up when I do activity or lift heavy things....To add on, it's been up and down I believe. A week ago I felt pretty awesome actually, not concentrating on my twitches so I hardly felt them, then 2 days ago I got a flare up, and now im back to twitching really bad when I wake up, stretch or rest.

you guys seriously worry me..sorryI am a new twitcher ( maybe 3 months) At moment twitches mostly in calves ( 95%) but not constant. A Little in arms, torso and face ( but not lips or tongue-mostly small twitching in cheek-feels like a fly crawling on my face) and I am coping pretty well ( with meds!). All not constant. Anyway what worries me, being a new twitcher...are you guys suggesting ( by your increasing amount of new twitches and everything else you talk out getting the longer you have BFS-numbness, shaking, tremors, burning etc etc) ) that I to will 'progress' with BFS to these 'scary' symptoms . Can anyone honestly tell me, that they have had BFS for X numbers of years, and it has not progressed to more issues, or has possibly regressed. This wpould actually give some confidence , that I can actually 'beat' this 'syndrome', or a least cope with it. Seeing my future through you guys, and this board , at times does not leave a pleasant feeling..especially as a chronic worrier (as Iam) cheers...aussie...

I am not an "old timer" by any means (9 months and counting), but this has been a topic of many earlier posts (and some interesting "arguments" about the purpose of this board). No one that has ever posted on this board, to my knowledge, has authentically progressed to a "baddie" disease and other evidence from other websites (and from my own neuro) substantiates this. If you have BFS, you don't and will not progress to something more sinister. However, this does not mean that BFS symptoms ever go away once you have them, though some have indicated an abatement in symptoms. Many of the real old timers simply don't check back in to this forum- instead moving on with their lives with BFS. Some have checked back in and some are still here - and they typically indicate that they still have BFS and simply have incorporated it into their lives. It is benign, even though it seems pretty intrusive in our lives, and benign is what you (we) need to focus on (though its not always easy). And I would bet that very few of us don't have at least some fear in the back of our minds that it will progress into something more sinister (including me), even if our neuros tell us otherwise. To put it in a nutshell: the good news is that you are very very very very very very very unlikely to progress to something worse; the bad news is that it is not very likely to go away any time soon (though there are a lot of things you can try to minimize the symptoms - meds, no caffeine, supplements, therapy, etc - some including myself have gotten at least partial relief through one or combination of these).

chiefgriz, I think you and I are in the exact same boat. I am 7 months in and I have the exact same fears/symptoms as you. We need to talk!

Eeeeks! He was on this board for a long time and then diagnosed with ALS!?I wonder how long he went on with just twitching an no weakness.Good lord.
