Half-Cramp in the Leg - Need Help!

Hey everyone!Things have been better lately but I am still kind of getting back into scary territory with myself, so I have been back a little more frequently lately. I do appreciate all the responses...Anyway, today I was walking (not an excessive amount either) and I started to develop a half-cramp in the back of my left thigh/hamstring. It kept feeling like it was about to turn into a horrible charley-horse but it never did. It came and went for about two hours, mostly during walking. Is it possible for normal Benign Fasiculations to develop into Benign Cramping Fasiculations and if so is it still normal to experience the cramps while walking? I am just worrying because the twitching has picked up lately, especially in my arms (which I did put to rest) but now my legs are doing this crampy thing! AND, my new neuro had to push my August appointment to September, so I don't get to see him to talk about my headaches/check in on the twitchy symptoms until then. So, any feedback is totally welcome!Hugs and Kisses,Megan

Yes, it absolutely can, or, those of us with BFS can have seasons of cramping which never progresses beyond that. I've found that the cramps came on years into this, but have not gotten any worse. If I put my toes, feet, legs or hands in certain positions, I cramp. I've learned the hard way what not to do, but they still get me sometimes. This would not cause me to worry in the last, but, depending on how severe your cramps are, you will need to decide whether to contact your doctor about symptomatic relief. Some neuro's also recommend a re-evaluation if the symptoms change, but in my experience, they ALWAYS change and evolve, so that's almost self-fulfilling. The second I would even imagine the symptoms changing, necessitating the call to the neuro, there they would go!Blessings, Sue

My situation does not involve traditional leg cramps/charlie horses. Rather, I've had three several week long bouts of extreme tightness/soreness in the calves up into the hamstrings. The first bout was two weeks after the twitching started and it was the worse. Coupled with anxiety I couldn't stand to be on my feet and had this constant state of near cramps, irritation in the leg muscles. It eventually passed. Then it came back 8 weeks later (I went back to the neuro specifcally for it and he was unimpressed). It passed too. Now about two weeks ago I was playing ball and felt the ache returning to the calf and from then on I've been having another bout of the crampy/tight/achy calves. I actually pulled my hamstring last week and I'm convinced it was due to this flare up. Anyway, for whatever reason, the calves appear most prone to this painful aspect of bfs.
