Going for EMG: Freaking Out

Hi Everyone, today I am going for my EMG at 4pm eastern time. Freaking out a little bit as I fear the worst. I've been twitching widespread almost two months now with my legs/feet going constantly and other body parts chiming in whenever they feel necessary. I passed my clinical at about 3 weeks into twitching but now I fear something will show on the EMG that was too subtle to pick up during the clinical. My neurologist, family, girlfriend, and friends aren't concerend at all but the anxiety still lingers within me. Looking for a bit of reassurance.

Good luck to you Snackslayer! I think you'll be very relieved by the end of your test today. I remember my anxiousness of taking the EMG like it was yesterday. Such a scary thing to go through. Sending you lots of good thoughts.Mitra

Good luck today..but u dont need it....trust me...If your clinical exam was good..your emg will be good... :D) You'll see ML :D)

Thanks for the reassurance everyone, I really appreciate it. Hearing others confidence helps me keep it together. I am only 25, which I've read is almost unheard of to get MND. Also to present with twitching only would be even more rare. Hopefully I will be able to come back and report good news this afternoon.

Just back from having my EMG .... just electrical pulses to begin with and then the needles!!!.... as with yours loud crackling especially when asked to flex my muscles ... looking over the consultants shoulder I read a number of entries he made .... some of them said 'within normal limits' ... some said 'moderate neuro.....' something or other. When questioned he said it was his way of noting results because I would be called back in six months to re test and confirm results ...is this normal? We spoke about BFS and his comment was 'lets not jump the gun' ...... he also said that 'none of the results suggested anythiny nasty' but both comments were throw away..... and have left me concerned ...... still Hasting Half Marathon tomorrow hoping for between 1.30 and 1.40 ...and then London Marathon on 21/4 and hoping for between 3.30 and 3.45 ..... I couldn't do that if there was something really seriously wrong ...could I???

Lol Raindog .... sure you could ... finished in 1 hr 37 min ... but suffering a bit today .... legs fine but twitching for England..... 4 weeks to the London marathon now .....
