Gastroenterologist Opinion on ALS Symptoms

Today I saw my gastroenterologist for Crohn's Disease which I've had a mild case of for 10 years. When I told him about my twitching/ALS worries for the last year he offered the following opinion:

He said that even in the initial stages of ALS symptoms that it's a fairly easy diagnosis for a neurologist to make - meaning they usually spot it right off. He said that after a year of symptoms a person standing on the street corner looking at you could make the diagnosis - meaning it would be very obvious.

He's not a neuro but he is a well respected doctor in his field. I hope this information helps.
