Gasping for Air: Reversing PT Reversion

I haven't been keeping up with my physical therapy lately and my body is slowly reverting back. Im back to the gym today after what happened last night. About 20 times I woke up in the middle of the night, gasping for air. I was not breathing. I simply stopped breathing. Now that one I know others here have had (greg for example). And its when I finally realized this condition not only creates fake ALS symptoms and fake MS symptoms but it also seems to create fake Narcolepsy and Sleep apnea symptoms. Because the body is under stress due to some cause we don't understand. But here's the weird part. When I woke up to start my day, I could not exhale. My lungs were filled up to about 75% and I could not deflate them. I tried numerous times to exhale and it simply wouldn't go. I could only take small breaths from 75 to 100% then back down to 75% full again. Never fully exhaling. rather than freak the Fk out, I rolled my eyes  and opened google. Turns out its a symptom of Emphysema. But I know I don't have that. The only other cause? People with severe anxiety disorder have this experience. I know I don't have severe anxiety disorder. But this is what motivated me to write my long post this morning. Whatever this is we're dealing with, is causing stress to our system even if we ourselves are calm. That is manifesting in numerous "disease like" symptoms without any actual disease. Just like people with severe anxiety problems can create symptoms of disease with their anxiety. I am absolutely going back to the physical therapy now. It changes everything for the better. I do believe it is my cure along with avoiding inflammatory foods (Paleo) and juicing. Just wish it would last. Maybe in time.BFSB

Booooring .........common here. Don't believe me? You should. I don't want to throw around with names because it is personal stuff those people tell me, but if you want me to I can ask them if it is OK to tell you.

Hey, what a coincidence, the exact same thing happened to me yesterday night when I was falling asleep! (sometimes it also happens in the middle of the night out of the blue) Actually it has happened to me several times in the past year. It's an awful feeling. I posted about it a while ago.

Actually this was never one of my major symptoms. I just remembered having been told about it a lot by other BFSers. My nights were terrible enough without those attacks

I just had a newish symptom therehad 5 or 6 episodes of shooting pain beside my right knee and after the shooting pain subsided after a few seconds I seemed to twitch a bit farther up on the right leg (upper thigh area) as if the shooting pain was almost provoking a twitch - weird, after this happened a few times, it stoppedhave had shooting pains in the past but don't remember them being followed by twitchesall in all though it's getting boring being concerned by newish symptomsthe vast majority of the time I am ok, especially when my mind is off it, i know that from twitching for a long time that weird things happen occassionally but they almost always disappeara month ago i was worried about swallowing, mucus in throat etc etc, all gone - still twitching in face though which is annoyingwith regard to your breathing issues, i have never experienced these, i sleep well most nights, only sleeping issues i have had in my time are waking up with numb arms and night terrors i.e. waking up suddenly and being a bit panicked for a few seconds

The thing that I've noticed about this condition, at least for me, is that whatever weakness my body has - tends to show up now. In other words, whatever symptoms my body manifests when it is *fatigued* .... seem to be showing up. Sometimes for the first time in years. So for me - I had asthmatic bronchitis 15 times as a child. And this breathing issue is one that asthma patients seem to report sometimes. When i was young and fatigued to the core due to lack of sleep, I would get sleep apnea and sleep paralysis. Now - - - - fully rested but with BFS - - - I had my first Sleep Paralysis episode in 20 years. Its all associated with an underlying generalized fatigue. Cellular inefficiency is what some might call it. Lack of ATP production? Maybe. Adrenal dysfunction? Maybe. But your organs can "fatigue" just like your muscles can fatigue. And when my muscles have been severely fatigued in the past, they've twitched. But now they do it when im rested. I just find it interesting that there's a "stress" like environment being created, even in the absence of any emotional or mental stress. Its an aspect of this syndrome I guess.

This is why my doctor does not include psycho therapy into the treatment, although anxiety and stress play a role. He says the body is stressed by itself, so he tries to calm down the body.
