Frequent Myoclonic Jerks with BFS

Hello everyone (again),

I'm sorry for posting so much lately but I had a really bad morning - I was getting these myoclonic jerks (as mentioned in "BFS In A Nutshell" - also known as sleep starts or body jerks) repeatedly. I will usually get a few of them every night or every morning but this morning was especially bad. Do any of you with BFS notice that you get more of them now with BFS than when you didn't have BFS? Both my arms were going, my legs, my hands were bouncing - it really frightened me. Once I woke up and got out of bed, everything was fine.

Thanks very much,
God Bless, Mark

No one else out there getting these? I'm just wondering how common this really is for those with BFS - I would love to hear some more replies.
Thanks and God Bless, Mark

Yup. Got a couple the other night. I always dream that I'm bumping into things when I have them.

Like I'll be having a dream and in my dream I'll bump my head on something and then I'll feel a head jerk.

I dont worry about them so much because my wife has them too. She kicked me in the as*s so hard one night that I hit my head on the head-board - no kidding.

AT LEAST I HOPE SHE HAD A SLEEP JERK!

She called it a: "go to sleep jerk" but I think it's the same thing :D)

Hi Mark,
When my bfs journey first began, I got the jerks all of the time.

Now I only seem to have them at night just before I fall asleep. I also have what Frank Costanza (Seinfeld) used to call "the Jimmy legs." LOL.
I seem to rapidly shuffle my legs just before dropping off to sleep. My husband (who also has bfs) does this as well.

Last evening I fell asleep on the couch and had a really bad bodywide jerk, where I bolted straight up, gasping for air. My husband just stared at me and said "O...K..."

Hope this helps,
Blessings,
Sue

yeah... i get them in my head.... all through the day lately. Seems to be worse when anxious. Like I just went and gave blood and when she went to stick the needle in I became a bobble head (although I think I feel it but noone else actually sees it)
