...is this, I have this tingling thing now in the whole body, sometimes in the foot, then in the back, then in the hand, mainly and almost nonstop tingling and twirching in the thighs. mainly on the left side of the body.....i know now that these are superfast twitches because in the back i felt them as such. freaking out this may be the sinister cause. took benzos the last three nights: it allowed me to sleep even i was woke up by twitching again....;-( i even felt them and the twitching during my meditation course when really was relaxed! and they are almost nonstop now...not good, not good....

Hi LaurentI can't imagine that this kind of wiespread tingling sensation could have anything to do with ALS. I don't even think that it could be any sort of fasciculation, given its widespread nature. I think a number of BFS sufferers get sensory changes and, as yuo probably know, ALS patients don't. So ironically I would think that the symptom you describe is somewhat reassuring!Hope you get a decent night's sleep!RegardsSimon

I twitch hard and subtle also. I get these weird twiches that feel like a muscle fart. Weird description but it fits. They last only a couple seconds.

have this too Krackersones....wrote an e-mail to my neuro at the als-centre in switzerland: he did not seem to be concerned and is still convinced it is anxiety related, what i deny.....but he said that yes, the tingling is fasciculation-related but points away from als....

but Krackersones, you said in another post that tingling is an issue of the sensory nerves....but my neuro said it is superfast twitching....!?

dd, i read trustful cases of widespread twitching for months before weakness came. the neuro-literature describse this as quite often. i have been twitching/buzzing for 7,5 months now, but never as strong as now....and yes, lots of buzzing!!!! scary!!! is the buzzing thing normal?had two clean emg in the beginning of twitching in the left foot, both legs, shoulders, arms, stomach, back, hand mainly.

The tingling and buzzing are similar sensations but if you have both I think you can distinguish between the two. The tingling feels like it is on the surface of my skin. The buzzing feels like it is coming from the muscle. I have a nerve conduction test that has been interpreted as showing severely abnormal slowing of conduction velocity in 7 or 8 nerves tested in different body parts. A later neuro said it is more like mild to moderately abnormal so I guess how severe it is is debatable. I have had two neuros do a clincal on me and tell me I failed the sensory nerve portion but passed the muscular/motor nerve/strength portion. So both neuros think I have sensory neuropathy so the tingling is consistent with that. Both neuros also believe that the cause of the motor nerve and sensory nerve abnormalities is the same (probably autoimmune). Another way I might describe the tingling is that it feels like that chill you might get if you are suddenly scared or weirded out by something but the feeling lasts hours not seconds. I also feels like a light feather is being stroked across your body firing up your sensory nerves.Krackersones

Tonight i was in a bowling match ...i also had a bowling match this afternoon ....completely engrossed in the game and never felt an ache pain twitch tingle or a buzz ....the moment i stop and driving back home my legs are popping fizzing thumping tingling buzzing etc.....this happens week in week out but i'm still as strong now as i was before it all started. The secret is to do something that keeps you active ...mix with people have a laugh and some banter. Do not sit there and focus on what is twitching, buzzing or tingling. Why constantly go over the same turf day in and out ....you have to beat this by putting it into a small place in your brain and locking the door. Move on coz its time spent worrying that you will never get back.
