Foot and Calf Cramping Issues

My left foot cramps but not my right. Also, both feet cramp if I point my toes. I get cramps in my calves as well.

I'm not sure if stuff posted on *** websites is always accurate or explained fully. It is my understanding cramping is a later sign. And not everyone with *** cramps.

AND my neuro told me the pain must be present with weakness.

If you look up foot or calf cramps, you'll find a wealth of information on what causes them other than ***. It's really quite common.

I think arm and foot cramping is normal and simply part of aging. I am in my early 30s, and I find that when exercising or stretching, I can't point my feet like I used to (when I was younger and took ballet lessons) without getting cramps in my feet every so often.

Also, I find that spending a day thoroughly cleaning my house (doing a lot of work with my hands to clean base boards and shutters), my hands will cramp easily and be sore for a few days after.

Really, I think a lot of our strange sensations are just from age--and not necessarily due to BFS alone.

I'm a pretty big basketball fan (go Sacto Kings!), and now I fully understand why a lot of the players my age are looked upon as 'nearly retired' and very injury prone. It takes a lot of guys who are just 30 a long time to recover from injuries....and well, even the 30 year old guys who aren't injured just don't have the joint flexibilty and mobility to move as fast as the teen phenoms and guys in their early 20s.

Cramps can be part of BFS--but they're also very much a common part of aging--even as young as 30 (for me). Part of life that takes some adjusting to. Somehow I never thought I'd be dealing with this stuff until I got 'older'....and now I've learned that slowly but surely, I AM getting older, so I have to also accept that my body is changing accordingly. :)

No worries-Rleneghan, your patterns of cramps don't sound abnormal at all to me. Also, the fact that you had fasics and no cramps six years ago seems totally in the realm of normal to me too.

Hope this board has helped ease your mind. Stick around a while. This place is great for support!
