Fingers Tremble After Use

Over the last week or so, I have noticed that when I use my hands for anything (typing or using a fork during eating for example), they begin trembling. Even after I stop using them, they tremble. It seems that all my fingers are trembling now (not really twitching or jerking, though that happens occasionally, too.). This is an added symptom to the non-stop twitching in other muscles (mostly calves, but it is like my body is playing an "around the world" basketball game). Now, I have been taking Lexapro for more than a month now (10 mg), supplemented with xanax (usually one per day as the anxiety builds). The Lexapro, I think, is having some good effect, but I am wondering if the Lexapro is actually causing the hand trembling? When you look up side effects, one of course gets the litany of different possible things but I think that tremors is one of them. Anyone have the same experience? With or without the SRRI?By the way, I am not really Roberts nor am I Cummerbund or Wesley. It's Mike (inconceivable!).

No thanks to the shaky hands....Oh, but I do get them - when I'm under physical/dietary stress of some sort - so they can be dispensed with usually. Does it help to move your arms from the shoulders? Get busy with your sword pirateman! You could be right about the Rx causing them as a few people have found that to happen. There are so many reactions to meds - plus your response can change over time - it's hard to gauge.

Hey Mike :D) The shakiness is commenly referred to as a tremor. VERY common with BFS (and even without BFS)...and, also very boring as it too is benign. I have tremors...they suck, and they were WAY scary for me at 1st. In fact, the tremors, NOT the twitches were the main reason I went to a neurologist. I still have tremors often...but now I dont worry about them nor do I pay too much attention to them & they dont last as long as they used to...this is because I am not creating anxiety about them. Also, they really run wild if I havent ate in awhile...low blood sugar is a HUGE culprit of tremors. You can PM me about this if you want to talk about them more...I really dispise tremors...they ruined my life for a couple of weeks. Bfshopeful would also be a good one to contact about tremors...Jeffrey and I could write a book on them I think...and he too could give a crap less about them. ;) Take care & smile...you are still just fine. :D) :D) ;) **H's & K's**~*~Amy~*~

Shaky hands? Check. My hands shake quite frequently and have since before symptoms of BFS began. My neuro was unimpressed by the tremors and said they are usually hereditary. My mom has a tremor, so genetic jackpot for me! The tremor gets worse (but is always somewhat present) when I haven't eaten, eat too much sugar, drink caffeine, or smoke (I know, totally gross!) Of course if I am axious my hands shake even worse.Hope this helps!

I get the really shaky hands too! My Neurologist said they were essential Tremor but I didn't experience them before the twitches occurred. It must just be one the really wonky symptoms of BFS.

My hands shakes a lot too.. i think it is a posture tremor. It gets worse when i am stressed out or just being nervous.. it's totally BFS related.

Hi there ... I just finished writing about just that shaky hands!!. post called short questions? I thought I was the only one out there with shaky hands. Do you all really believe this is just another annoying bfs symptom. I too am really freaking out because I have been twitching now for 2 full years and now my hands, even my face muscles, my lips feel like they want to twitch or tremor.. such an awful feeling. I do sometimes see fine movement under my skin.. that has to be fine twitching, right? Sometimes I believe I am way too aware of every fine moment and look for trouble... and other times I know what I feel and can't just ignore it. I see my neuro again in 4 weeks will keep you posted on what he says.MC

With BFS my tremors (shaky hands) started first...It is especially noticeable when I outstretch my fingers to extension. Certain Postures also aggravate this along with stress, anxiety, smoking, overuse, tiredness after no sleep,...list continues. My tremors are sometimes accompanied with ratcheting. Like said before they are 99% benign. My paternal side has a history of benign essential tremor...I have found some relief after reducing my daily intake of caffeine. You will be fine.Regards,Raj.
