Hello all, I'd like to first say, i'm really happy i found this forum because its been instrumentally helpful in allaying fears i have had about the things i started feelings about a month ago.So while im now about 80% sure i don't suffer from something more serious, i'll explain what i know and what i'm waiting for and maybe get a little support. :3about 5 weeks ago, my left index finger began to twitch and then over the next couple of days continued to do so. It would (and still does) twitch when i would stop doing something with my hands and they lay at rest, for instance when i stop typing even as i talk to you guys now, my index finger will twitch a few times and will remain at rest. So, after it started and continued for a few days, I, being a person of the internet, decided to research. And O' how my fear and anxiety skyrocketed reading about ALS, MS, Parkinson's. I'd say for the first two weeks, i felt like i was going to have a mental breakdown every single time i sat down to think about it. That was until i found the thread titled, "why you don't have ALS". Aaron's posts did a whole lot to relaxing and calming me so that now i only feel the "fear" occasionally. I have had my bloodwork done, and that has showed nothing (no diabetes or lymes), and so next wednesday, i have an appointment with a neurologist. I am hoping to rule out the the motor neuron diseases and hope that its just BFS. Anyway, like everyone else, i guess i'll explain what i experience each day, and maybe get some feedback from you guys if it really is BFS. I know you guys arent doctors, but the support would be greatly appreciated.so, my twitches don't seem as bad as others, but annoying to me none the less as this is new. My hotspot is my left index finger, guaranteed, if my finger is at rest, it will twitch once to 4 times or so in rapid succession and then quit. It doesn't twitch when im doing things with my hands, just at rest. I have finer twtiches that i experience on in my toes and other hand occasionally especially at night. i jerk a few times at the waist also before sleeping. Some days i have little twitching while most days its pretty common to twitch at the finger. In terms of other things i've read here, i get some random days where i feel like my fingers are numb and then it seems to move to my arms, while other days i feel like i lack coordination but i think thats more related to being hypersensitive. I think that about it, but i just wanted to share and get some feedback from you folks. And i'm just hoping for a good clean report from the neurologist
