Finding Peace Through Twitching

This is my first post. I was soooooooooooo grateful when I found this site last week. I felt such peace, like I finally could stop worrying. I've been twitching for almost two years now. The first year was just in my calves. Now it is everywhere. The twitching doesn't bother me so much since I have read about all of you. But, my main fear is joint pain. I didn't see this anywhere else on the board. One of my knees and ankles kills (and cracks a lot) and the other knee is starting to hurt. My doctor has me on Motrin and a muscle relaxant for the cramping but I am sooooooooo scared that this is the start of not being able to walk due to ALS. (Even though my doctor told me that no neurologist in the world would say I have ALS and that ALS doesn't hurt. I have a hard time trusting her.) Also, does anyone get a weird shaking feeling in some of their muscles when they yawn? This all sounds so crazy. I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Hi there,
I also get joint pains - mainly in my knees and one of them definately cracks when I walk. Joint pain also in hands sometimes - although it seems to move around. My Doc doesn't think it's arthritis - I don't have any redness or swelling - just pain (and twitching of course!) and my muscles ache on and off aswell - crampy pains and real aching.
Also - I have the similar thing when I yawn - not so much muscle trembling, but a feeling that my muscles feel a bit tired holding my mouth open, but that again goes away. One day here, next day not.
Hope this helps.

I had a lot of joint and muscle pain when I was going through my high anxiety phase of this stuff. That is pretty much gone now as my anxiety has decreased. I still have the twitches.

When you ask about the shaky muscles when yawning, are you refering to face muscles? I do not get this, but I do get joint pain and clicking in my jaw because I clench and grind my teeth. This is called TMJ and it is all stress related. Also, maybe this has always happened to you, but now you are just noticing it as you are very aware of everything going on in your body right now.
