Fibromyalgia, BFS, and SSRIs

dee dee. you mentioned your constant muscle cramping, muscle tenderness - both of these are very indicative of Fibromyalgia. (Which BFS is somewhat similar to). Well, my medical school husband has recently informed me that a lot of doctors treat Fibromyalgia with SSRI's as it seems that low Serotonin levels are present in people with Fibro. My point - perhaps an SSRI would help you with both your anxiety as well as the muscle symptoms. I believe this is the case for me. The more I think about it since taking an SSRI I have had less muscle soreness/tension/pain.

Hi Eleven,

I have heard that as well. I am reluctant to try one. I should say a"try" another one. I tried taking Zoloft for 2 weeks and I never felt worse. It increased my anxiety three-fold. My doctor told me that anxiety can be a side effect. I know that something has to be done. I just need to find the solution.
