Feeling Better: My ADD Story

Toro,
I hope your feeling a little better!

I probably have ADD. So forgetful and I can't sit still!

I'm in the financial sales industry now. I can remember the stupidest most mindless junk also I'm very good with phone numbers, password and dates of birth! But I can't remember why I walked into the kitchen where I put my keys or even where I parked my car. A few months ago I sold my car and bought a jeep. I still look for my car almost everytime I walk out into a parking lot. I'm still not over having to get rid of my car growing up and getting an SUV. :)

Felicia:

OMG ME too!!!

I told my husband I am seriously concerned about my memory lately. I have always had the best memory. I can easily tell you stories of what happened when I was five years old, but can't remember if what I ate for dinner yesterday.

I'm doing things like misplacing my car keys, etc., things I've not done before.

Ginny

Thanks Ginny and Felicia for your post.

I spoke to a doctor since I posted the first message and I described the same type of memory loss you both listed. Forgetting names and walking into a room and not remembering why I came in etc. He said that is very common in most people especially as they get older. He said that people with MS have a certain type of memory loss that he looks for. He did not go into details on what type of memory loss he described. He also said an MRI scan often shows a false positive in people with lesions that show up in the MRI but, they do not have MS. He said that there must also be a history of other symptoms that clearly indicate MS, exactly as StephG22 described in her post.

Just one more question. I started to get a twitch in my left eyelid. It is primarily on the lower half and it mostly occurs right after I blink. Is this common with BFS?

Thanks again,

Toro

Absolutely!!!

Almost everyone here has had those eyelid twitches. They are one of the most common places for benign twitches.

I had one go on for two days---it about drove me nuts. My husband gets them once in a while (and he doesn't have BFS either)

Ginny

Toro and Ginny,
Thanks for your responses on the memory loss!
See I forgot to reply to this. LOL!!!
I get the eyelid twitch right in the bottom corner closest to my nose. I especially love to get these while I'm driving.
:)

Hi Felicia,

LOL! that's great. Talk about memory loss! I do it all the time. We all may be a little fearful but, at least we are not crazy. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Sharon and Dave,

Thanks for the posts. Sharon, the name of the book by Michael J. Fox is called "Lucky Man." Sorry for the delayed reply I have been traveling this week and I have been out of touch. It is amazing that I (like most of us on these boards) have been so aware of everything my body is doing and how I look at it now. Before I would have just ignored it. So I understand what you are going through Sharon. Keep your chin up and try to enjoy your kids and your life.

Have either of you experienced facial tremors. I have had one on and off this weekend when squinting at my daughter's soccer game. It is on my left side around the point of my "smile lines" next to my mouth Heat index of 104 and very sunny. Again, my Parkinson's fear crept up on me. It stops when stop squinting or smiling (I know, someone would say....if something happens when you do that, then don't do that.....). Anyway, looking for some insight. Also, Toro, thanks for the name of the book...

It does help, thanks. I got freaked out about this one because it is new, it is on the same side as my hand shaking, although my hand is not shaking today and it is the same side where I originally started (left index finger). My husband told me to calm down and I was probably anxious about going away for the soccer tournament with everything that has been happening to me and being around all those people, but I just enjoy watching my girls play so much and actually had a good time, except for that. That makes it all the harder to believe that I could have been stressed out. Then this morning I started to think maybe it was my facial muscles becoming weak and that sent me spiraling....

I read somewhere that facial spasms can be a sign of muscle weakness in the face (I am totally freaking out now). With normal EMG 2 mos ago, should this new symptom of my face quivering when I smile be a concern? I also heard about something called a hemifacial spasm. Anyone familiar with that one? The side of my face spasms (quivers) every time I smile or put my face in a squinting position. Started on Saturday and has never happened before this. :crying:
