Fear of ALS Increases with Ankle Pain

As I noted before in my recent post about my fears of ALS I have a few more concerns. One is that for a month now when I wake up my and my ankle is really sore especially to walk on but after about 10 minutes of walking it off it does not bother me the rest of the day. I read today that ankle instability is symptom of ALS so now coupled with my other concerns I am scared. In addition, my right wrist is pretty tender, most notably when I am bench pressing weights. I am so scared that my joint pains and perceived weakness I feel occasionally is ALS. Any suggestions? Please refer to my post from yesterday if need more info.

I think you're concentrating on every little symptom. I was there once, too. It is so hard to overcome, I know, but you can do it. If you had weakness, you would REALLY know. Secondly, joint pain is not a symptom of ALS. Everybody has some type of joint ache in the mornings, you're just concentrating on yourself way too much. And you can go and type in a symptom on the Internet and what you want to find you'll find. You need to RELAX and be happy you're alive. I'm sure you don't have ALS. Have a good weekend.

God Bless!!!

cramer,

I believe that if you had ankle instability from als, it wouldn't get better as the day went on. Try not to worry so much. I know it's hard, but try!

If you aren't loosing your balance and falling down, don't worry about it! Not all you symptoms even sound like they are related to BFS. I would be willing to bet that you hurt your ankle somewhere, or there is a little bit of inflammation around that joint.
