Fast Tremor When Lifting Thumb

Every new symptom really starts freaking me out. I recently noticed a very fast tremor when I lift my left thumb up. I mean my hand will be laying on the table with no tremor. Right when I lift my thumb up, my thumb starts trembling like crazy. I am not sure if this is related to bfs. I was working around the house today, using my hands a lot, but has anybody had a symptom like this? It just seems to me that BFS is a compilations of the early symptoms of so many neurological diseases.

I made the huge mistake of going to one of my neuro books (I wish I did not have a single medical textbook in my house) and it stated that parkinson's disease sometimes starts with a tremor between the thumb and first finger. I am not sure what a pill-rolling motion is. I know that my hands are pretty steady at rest, but never has tremored this way before.

Thanks again for all of your help.

i have the same thing.. bfs has alot of weird symptoms besides twitching,, the wosrt one is pain,,, but just blame it on bfs,, im sure nothing serious more than bfs is wrong here,, ive had bfs for 4 1/2 years and nothing but these bizzare symtoms happen.. im still alvive and walking..:)

Hey.
First: I get a similar tremor (only sometimes). Neuro's seen it and isn't impressed.
Second: I recently freaked and put up a post about twitching faster than anyone should. I had this super-fast twitch going in my fingers. Apparently I'm not alone.
Third: Tremor with intentional motion (i.e. doing something, not at rest) is generally thought to be a BETTER sign than tremor at rest (less likely to be something pathological). Note the distinction here between twitching at rest and tremoring at rest. We all twitch at rest and it's BENIGN.
Lastly: Pill rolling looks just like pill rolling. Like you have a little round pill between your thumb and forefingers, and you're rolling it around. Did you ever make rubber cement boogers when you were a kid? Well I did. Maybe I'm the only one. But anyway: I'd cover my thumb in rubber cement and rub it off, back and forth, with my forefinger (making a big goo ball). That's sort of comparable to what pill rolling looks like. It has a very distinct appearance.

This sounds like very typical BFS. I mean, certainly have it checked out (just for reassurance and to bring your neuro up to date) at your next neuro appt, but I wouldn't make any special visits. :) Plus, odds are it'll be gone by then anyway.

Hope that helps. No worries!
