Amir, you came to the right place. The people here will reassure you that you don't have ***.
The reason it causes atrophy in the quad is because it is compensating for the problem in the knee.
You will find that over 95% of the people that come to this message board are thinking the worse. It is not ***.
Please read the "BFS in a nutshell" you will see you are not alone and probably have other symptoms also.
Stress makes it worse. Try to take a walk and some deep breaths.

A meniscal tear (tear of the meniscus, i.e. tissue in the knee) can cause atrophy in related muscles. This is common and has NOTHING to do with the nervous system. It is to do with the tear preventing the muscles from being properly used, hence they waste away.

Is your knee problem causing pain?

Brisk reflexes also common (see various other threads).

Calm down. NOTHING to worry about here. Having BFS doesn't stop you experiencing the normal "wear and tear" injuries that affect the rest of the population!
