Facial Twitching and Involuntary Twitches

I'm 26 yo, and I have been having facial twitching when using the muscles since Dec 2004 and have been having involuntary twitches all over the body since May 2005.

I have been to a neurologist who did an NCV, EMG, MRI and blood work, which all came back fine. He seems to think it is stress related. However, due to the fact that whenever I hold a smile or frown, the muscles twitch while I am flexing them especially the one near my nose, forehead, and bottom eyelid twitch. When I hold a smile for a few seconds, the corner of my mouth twitches.

I have small children and these twitches have me scared to death of ***. Does it sound like an *** symptom. I wonder if anyone have experienced this or know if this is BFS related. Thank you for your replies.

Scared mom.

Hi Mom:

There are lots of us with facial twitches, very common indeed. I researched a couple of threads for you, but there are lots of them.

Cheers,
Basso

A 26 year old, twitching for an entire year, clean EMG, and no weakness.

You do NOT have ***. I don't need to go to med school to make that diagnosis.

If you have not done so already, read the " BFS in a nutshell" thread in the General Topics forum. It will further put your mind at ease.

Hi - Along with my body wide twitching, which has quited down recently, I get facial twitches almost daily (eyelid, chin, and scalp over the ear). These are very common on this board and do not sound like *** at all. That, combined with your age and normal exams indicate that you have no reason whatsoever to be scared.

Cheers,
-Bill

When I first started twitching, I could not hold one eye closed (in a wink,) for even a second without some serious facial twitching.
In fact, I'm doing it now and my cheek is going berserk.
I look kinda like this dude....
No worries-just bfs.

Thank you all for your replies and your understanding.

I freaked out with these twitches because they only happen in my face as I use the muscles, and I thought that BFS happened when the muscles were relaxed.

I am hoping that they stay at that and do not develop any further. Everyday I check to make sure that my strength is still the same.

Another question: If it were Bulbar ***, would I have other symptoms by now? It has been 6 months since I noticed the twitching when I frown. Also, does anybody have twitches when the muscles are in use?

Sorry to keep on asking questions, but I am just trying to give myself peace of mind, and I am trying to get over the *** scare.

Again, thank you for your reassuring responses.
