Exploring Twitching and Cramping

Been lurking around for quite sometime. Been twitching for 20+ years. Started many moons ago. Always twitched, always cramped but thought nothing of it. Trip to ER for chest pain revealed high CPK some 19 years ago. Later realized it was from muscle not heart/brain. Seen all the doctors have had all the tests. Quite the gash in my left thigh for a muscle biopsy. All for not, Dr. told me come back when you have weakness. Twitching, elevated CPK, cramping (CPK 20 years ago 900 or so, last 5 years she's settled down a bit, around 500) for 20 years no weakness.Read most posts, read most fears, most symptoms, have had most if not all....twitching in every muscle, almost constant in arch of feet, second most calves, third thighs, fourth tie between all other areas, have had the rolling fascics, the tiny ones you can bearly see, the major ones that move fingers and limbs, have had the zaps, the buzzing, numbness, hypnic jerks, night sweats...have had it all but nothing serious. I'm healthy, I jog, I'm active.........still waiting for the day I wake and my thumb doesn't work properly.........yup that's the burden we all share.

wow thanks for checking in here's is one i need help with...see below for video link...ever had these or any thoughts? Contraction fasciculations in thigh musclesHi!Since someone brought up the subject of fasciculations when stressing a muscle: When I put my weight on my thigh muscles by doing a "half squat", I get really strong fasciculations. Does anyone else get these "contraction fasciculations"? Can you just see the muscle working there or is that pathological?

I can't really tell from video. Look like fascics to me. Just a different type. I get small ones, big ones, ones I can't feel, shivering ones, thumpers, poppers, you name it.

ShrkWhisper,Thank you for sharing your story. I am very sorry that you've had this condition for a number of years, but I am glad to hear that you're healthy. I am only four months in but your experience sounds similar to mine. I was just thinking today about how isolated I feel with this condition; it's so difficult to get people to understand what we go through both mentally and physically on a daily basis. People have told me to just reduce my stress and it will help- it doesn't for me anyway. I have not stopped twitching and cramping since this whole ordeal began and I don't necessarily know that it ever will. Thank you for being a successful example in handling this condition that can be, for some, long term.ristinaL91
