Okay going back in previous posts I somehow stumbled on the story of Carol.

GREAT NOw I have something else to be concerned with.

Does anyone have any info on her recenlty. Has she been offically diagnosed or what. I have pretty much twitching primarily in my left leg. I do get it in othe places but for the most part they live in my calf and my foot.
Any info would be helpful I don't want to back track on any progress however minute. Neuro appt on weds though. A little nervous but ready.

I stumbled on the same story, and was alarmed at first. Carol proved to be a fraud, plain and simple. She was just in need of attention from somebody, anybody and so thought some internet people might just be the ticket.

Rest easy Carri, you are well. Tonight my left leg is twitching, aching, and pulsing to beat the band. It has been like that, on and off, for over a year now.

You can sleep tonight without worry.

Cheers,
Basso

Ah Basso my knight and shining armor,
To my rescue again and I thank you.

What a horrible thing for someone to do especially when it is obvious people are in a vulnerable state as it is.

It is people like you that give us hope and comfort and the ability to cope another day!

I love Basso - but as he has pointed out time to time, I have many personal issues I need to deal with.

Carol's story was indeed fraudulent, and was very disturbing to many of us at the time. That said, stories are stories, and so, even this site notwithstanding, you must ultimately learn to trust your neuros, trust the science, and trust yourself to heal. Carilynn, you will do just fine.

My leg has been an aching, twitching mess for months too. Some days better, some days worse. I can tell various things are happening - some muscles overcompensating, twitches tending to be more prevalent when muscle is having a chance to relax after being strenuously used, etc. At the end of the day, there are many of us in this camp, and life goes on just fine. Yesterday, in fact, the leg was perfectly good, and I had a great day, only to have it go goofy on me again today. Such is BFS, and life with it.

Smile!

Hey guys.

Who is Carol, I've never heard of her.

How do you know she was a fraud and what kind of posts did she make?

Just woundering.

Jeff, I read some posts by this lady and they freaked me out!!

She basically came out and said she'd got diagnosed with als and then retracted it and put it down to the stress of not being taken seriously by doctors etc.

I dont know what prompted her to 'fess up but I think it was because people realised there were holes in her story and confronted her with it

I think it was all a big cry for help by someone who was not well at all, but it gave a lot of people a helluva shock for a while until the truth came out
