Exploring BFS Brain Feelings

OK--everyone--here's a 'new one" (or, maybe not) Since having BFS--at times, while going off to sleep at nite--I'll have strange "pre-sleep"....."brain feelings"...like zaps or shivers! No--I am not weaning off any anti-depressant (as this is where you hear about them)--Just curious---If anyone has them...or feels that they are in ANY way.."related"--to BFS--please--get back--!I've been thoroughly tested by neuros for this...(brain MRIs....EEGs....)...& nothing abnormal was found! (They do not happen all the time)Hoping a few of you hear....may know...or expierence what I'm feeling...& I HOPE....(at least it'll be an explanation)---someone can 'connect'....this to my BFS--! Thanks--Christian- :D)

Not sure what you mean by "brain zap" but for the last 20+ years I've experienced a weird feeling every few months where something will feel like a "zap" in my neck into my head. It often happens when I'm in the middle of talking to someone.Never thought much of it - just figured i pinched a nerve or something. Have had it for so long, I don't worry about it in the slightest.Other than that, nothing that could rightly be described as a zap.

This is soooo weird that you said this. Just 2 nights ago I was in bed and my whole body went head to toe into a spiral type thing...it was the weirdest thing I had every experienced. It was like a complete shiver/quiver thing but top to bottom.... very funny. It is very common though for me to get ready to dose off and my body will jerk. My doctor is wondering if I have RLS (restless leg syndrome) because of the calves twitching like I have mentioned. Also my legs just can't keep (sometimes) from moving. He started me on Mirapex but I tried it twice and got SICK SICK SICK so I cannoat tolerate that.

Now that you mention it... When I was at the height of my symptoms, before I started taking remedies to relieve them, I experienced episodes where I would start shivering like I was cold. Mostly this happened in the middle of the night where I would wake up, but sometimes it happened in the evenings when I was trying to relax but my anxiety was getting the best of me. These shivers would set off panic attacks because I had absolutely no idea what the heck was going on. Once I started taking remedies to cope with the anxiety, these shivers went away and I haven't had one since. It was very frightening though.

Thanks for your reply. It doesn't scare me in the least...I mainly found it interesting and unusual. I am not anxious at all concerning these twitching things, other than wanting them to stop. I already take Lexapro for my depression. But I did find it interesting that on the RLS (restless leg symdrome) website, they mentioned taht sometimes drugs such as Lexapro make the RLS symptoms worse. Since I switched from Prozac to Lexapro about a year or so ago, it does make me wonder whether this is why my twitching in my calf started up. going to talk to my doc concerning this and talk about going back to Prozac. It would be interesting to see if the symptoms stop.
