Exploring Abnormal Blood Results

Since certain symptoms have changed for the worse in the last few months, I had the Dr. retest any blood work results that were abnormal, primarily dealing with auto immune issues. I was suprised at the results. Back in march of 2010, My ana titer was 1:640, now it is 1:80. My R.A. factor was 10, now its 21. My sed rate was 18, now its 4. WTF. I have logically thought since the the only real abnormal test have been auto-immune related, that is the root of my problems. Now that those levels have gone down and the Rheumatoid factor has gone up (I dont know if 21 is considered extremely high, based on 10 being in normal range) should I think that I have R.A. My thoughts are that alot of people that actually have a lot of these diseases never know because they dont have test done. If it werent for my twitching, I would not know that I had carple tunnel, a bad gall bladder, mild pn or auto-immune issues. I fall into a different group than your "typical" bfs. My group is the 10,000's twitches/day instead of the insignificant amount. Just curious if anybody has had blood work (auto-immune related) vary like mine has. Have a nice day.

I had my ANA checked in the beginning but I haven't had it checked since which was 19 months ago. I do have autoimmune thyroid disease though. Like you said, you would never have this stuff checked if you weren't twitching so what does it really mean? I don't know.

HiI dont have a diagnosis but my Ana twice has been borderline and million other times negative. My sed rate is always elevated. Highest was 58. I am vitamin d deficient. My ra is normal. An tere is another test rhumy did called c4 that's another inflammation marker and that was elevated too but he says it's nothing!!!In any case there is a blood test you can do along with RA. It's called anti-CCPIt's a newer test for RA to help confirm.Dosent hurt to get it done.Fan

I, too, am in the tens of thousands of twitches per day category, though I think that if many of us really calculated it out they would be surprised at the number.Anyway, I had high creatine kinease levels (400+) and a high c reactive protein (5+) in my original blood test. I see my neuro (or his RN) every 6-8 months right now and the last two times had both retested. The CK went up and then down (still above 400), but the CRP went down to 4.3 then to 1.5, which is back in the "normal" range. I was happy with the latter, of course, as my neuro really didn't know what to make of the elevated CRP levels. But the CRP does point to an immuno issue, which I really believe is at the core of my twitches. There just isn't much to do to get rid of it. Supplements and meds help but are not cures.
