Experiencing Same Symptoms: Stanford Visit

I, too, have experienced all the symptoms you have experienced-have gone through three neurologists before I was diagnosed. Am planning to go to Stanford in July to make sure there is nothing else going on. My neurologist specializes in nerves and muscles, and placed me on tegratol, which helped the shaking, spastic feeling alot. I am currently weaning myself off the Tegratol. I was so distraught, though, he put me on prozac. Only took two pills, though; they seemed to make my anxiety worse. Anyway, maybe you should follow up with another mri to ease your mind, and know there are thousands of us out here who are experiencing the same things you are. Your symptoms will subside, and you will feel better!

God bless you,

Cherie

Dear Hammer,

Have you been to a neurologist? He could do further testing on you to ease your mind, and maybe prescribe meds that would help you- I believe anti-seizure meds help much better than anti-depressants. I think they are also easier to wean yourself off of. It sounds like you are in the worst part of this syndrome; symptoms should subside with time. I, too, have had days where I suffered unbelievable fatigue; usually following a day of a rigorous workout which I try not to do anymore. Also drinking gatorade helped me feel better.

I am praying for you; You will recover!

Cherie,

Over the past 7 years since this all started I have been to 4 neurologists. My therapist is actually a neuro-psychologist - (she is a neurologist so that makes 5). She attributes all of my symptoms to anxiety and stress and says there is no way after all of this testing that I have any neurological disease. Easy to say as I continue to twitch and twitch!!
