Last few days I have started to experience new symptoms and was windering if anyone else has had these.1. Buzzing sensation in back of my neck. Lasts a few seconds and is then gone again. Can happen 4 times a minute and then be gone for hours. Definite a buzz and not a twitch. My wife cant feel or see it.2. Feeling of having a lump in my throat when I swallow.Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I get the buzzing sensation in the back of neck too. Wish I knew what it was. It makes me think my nerves in my spine are excited. I put my hand there think I should feel something but I don't. I only sense it internally.

Yeah I get neck symptoms too... usually a palpable fasciculation there but at other times more of an altered sensation feeling. The Mayo Clinic report descibes 'migratory sensory diusturbance' in some BFS patients so I assume this is what we are experiencing. At times, I have had swallowing-related and speech related symptoms that have caused me to become highly anxious (fear of ALS/ bulbar palsy) but they have never amounted to anything and have come and gone (unlike ALS) so I now try to ignore them. Suggest you do the same (easier said than done!!!)Good luckSimon

I'm amazed by the changing qualities of bfs. Its been about 2 weeks since I got the clean neuro exam and clean emg. I slept like a baby the first two nights. Just like the weight of the world had been lifted. Amazingly the twitching went down to intermittent and at times barely noticeable . I thought to myself, "wow! this was entirely stress related and all due to your own worrying." I ran a few miles, worked out, and things have been rolling. Then out of the blue, right hand twitching and spasms that move my middle finger and crampiness in the right hand (of course the one hand and arm that was not emg tested!). I also have had the oddest low grade/deep vibration sensation in the left leg. Like someone's running a low level shock to my leg. Had that for three straight days and then it disappeared. I've not let my mind run away over it. I've kept my cool and repeated the neuro's words to myself. But I now know this isn't JUST stress or anxiety. Clearly the stress and anxiety made it much worse though. But I still find myself looking at my hands and wondering why they look so thin and veiny. Anyway though, today its hand twitching and leg buzzing, tomorrow it'll be something else.

Funny you should mention thin, veiny hands cos mine are the same. And you know I know its not my imagination cos I'm 195cm tall and weigh 240 pounds. Im not small so my hands just look odd. But its not atrophy or if it is then its affected both hands equally and not just equally but every muscle in both hands. My feet are the same too. Great big clod hopping size 15 feet that look Boney and veiny.Anyone else got veiny hands or feet since bfs started?

Wow! That sounds just like me. I noticed mine before the BFS started. I lost some weight last year and when I started back working out i'd notice how veiny my forearms and hands were. Rings don't fit my fingers anymore. I'm about 6 feet and not bony or skinny at all. I lift a lot of weights and am fairly strong. And yet I've got these emaciated hands and feet. I wear a size 12 shoe and I have all kinds of dents and hand bones that show when a spread my fingers out. I've become more fixated since the twitching started but I've realized its not part of that. I look at other people with sausage fingers and thick hands and think what the hell's wrong with me that I have such skinny hands and feet. Weird.
