Experienced Hidden EMG Fascics?

Has anyone ever had am EMG that picked up fasciculations in a spot they never knew they had them. When I had my last EMG done, they picked up fasciculations in my right trapezius (shoulder areaa) and I've never seen or felt any twitches there. The doctor told me that the twitching could be deeper in the muscle, therefore it is not visible. Has anyone else had this? I didn't like that so many fascics showed up in that area and I never even knew I had them there.

nothing to worry about. I had fascics show up all over my body, many places that I've never actually felt twitch before.Take care,Gary

Nervousmommy,Did the neuro say anything helpful or reassuring about his finding of fasciculations? I would look at it as a positive in that there is something for doctors to see that will force them to acknowledge that something is going on even if benign. This is much better than having people tell you you are lying or exaggerating about a normal sensation because of anxiety. It just helps to have your situation acknowledged in my opinion. My EMGs did not pick up fasciculations despite the fact that I clearly had them in the areas tested. I have them in my shoulders and I can feel them frequently. Be glad you can't feel yours. They are annoying.Krackersones

I had fascics show up in my calves on my emg. I have felt them there before but was surprised because I didn't feel them during the test. The neuro said the same thing to me that they were deep within the muscles. That was five months ago and no weakness there.

search my original posts and you can find my whole EMG report. I think I had fasciculations in 3 of 9 muscle areas tested. Neuro said it was a "good" thing as he got a complete story. 2.5 years later, here I am twitching away. Don't worry about it.
