How many of you have a healthy diet (lots of vegs, fruits and little meat, usually fish and poultry) and exercise regularly. How may of you did this before the onset of BFS?
Me. I've always eaten very healthy. Now, I'm trying to cut out wheat, dairy and some other things, due to a blood test looking for food sensitivies' results. I guess I'm highly reactive to wheat. But, I always ate well, took supplements, etc. The problem is that I would sit and have 3 to 5 glasses of wine with my husband on a weekend night (too much, of course!) - so an occasional binge drinking likely robbed me from my good eating habits. Not to mention my frequent use (3 times a week) of Ambien to sleep.Mitra
I did an ALCAT test that shows antibodies in your blood to food. There's a lot of controversy around it, whether it's valid or not, but others swear it changed their life by eliminating their high sensitivity foods. There are moms of autistic kids for example, who claim their children completely changed when they found out that they needed to eliminate gluten and casein from their diets. So, the jury's out. My list is so long it's ridiculous. The only meats I can eat are turkey, some fish, lamb (which I hate). I don't know if I'm going to succeed or not. The doctor (naturopath) claims that he thinks I have an overactive immune system. I never get sick (usually) and he thinks the twitching could be related to it. He believes that it's because of my food allergies. Interestingly enough, a week after changing my diet, I'm sick Go figure.
I have mostly a healthy diet for years, eat even mostly organic, rarely meat, daily fresh veggies and fruit, full-grain etc. Almost no glutamate or yeastextract, no conservation stuff, colours, artifilial flavours, the only thing I crave for is...sugar..I loooooooooove chocolate...still got bfs...
