Endocrine Disorders & Muscle Twitching

Hello again,I've read that endocrine disorders can cause muscle twitching and cramping.I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2006, which is the most common endocrine disorders in females. Was wondering if anyone else has any endocrine disorders and if this may be a possible source for the muscle twitching, aside from anxiety, of course! ;)

I don't, but that is interesting. I do have ulcerative colitis though (an autoimmune disorder from what I understand.) I don't know what exactly causes the twitching, but it seems it's not necessarily just something sinister.

I don't have a dx'd endocrine disorder, but I found info in the past that supports a link for some people. In my opinion, i would follow that lead to see if you can find a treatment that can solve your problem.Take care,Gary

Endocrine disorders like thyroid disease can definitely cause twitching. I was diagnosed with hashimotos thyroiditis and my twitching started shortly afterwards. I have also found that low Vit D levels can cause muscle and joint aches. I have addressed both these things in my own health and my twitching is 80% better along with the other BFS symptoms. Not saying I am "cured", but I am much improved. I am 2 years and 4 months into this.

I've taken a thryoid replacement drug every day since I was about 15 (levoxyl) so count me in as one of the "well, maybe this thing is endocrine system-based" examples.

I have heard this too and thought I had thyroid issues as I also get stabbbing nerve type of pains, hundreds of muscle twitches daily, and extreme joint cracking. All my labs came back okay however...this has been going on for 1 1/2 yrs
