It's been a while since I posted, but even longer since my twitching has gone.
Just wanted to see how everyone was. I see lots of new names, but the stories are all the same. Believe me, I have felt your pain!
Just a note of encouragement to you all....It CAN go away and you CAN live a normal life again.
It's been about two years since I got better. But it did leave a big scar by taking away such a lenghty period of my life. If I have learned anything from this experience, it is to not let ANYTHING dictate your life. It is YOUR life, you only get one chance at it, so take control and make every moment count. Dwelling on the negative or worrying about something you may never be able to change is a huge waste of energy and an even bigger waste of your time. I wasted about two years of my life living in fear of the "what if's"
Focus on the positives and kick all those negatives thoughts to the curb and leave them there. FDR said it best..."The only thing we have to fear is fear itself" I think that the fear was killing me and causing most of my symptoms. Once I changed my thinking (with a little help from Zoloft), my symptoms slowly subsided, and eventually went completely away. The power of positive thinking is a marvelous thing. Equally so, the power of negative thinking can be devestating both physically and emotionally. The mind/body connection is powerful.
This may not be the case for everyone, but it worked for me and is worth a try (a whole hearted try!)
Best to all!
Kim
