I have also tested positive for ANA. There are numerous reasons why you test can come back positive, and just as many that they dont mean anything is wrong. Generally, people with Lupus and Rheumatoid arthritis will have positive test results. But, more times than not it really doesnt mean anything at all. When I had my 1st series of bloodwork done, I test positive, speckled, homogenous. My ANA titer was 320:1. Next test everything the same except my ANA titer went up to 640:1. My RA (rheumatoid arthritis) level was slightly elevated. Last bloodwork showed my ANA titer @ 80:1, which is only slightly above "normal". 40:1 or less is normal, but my RA level had doubled. I went to a rheumatologist and she said that none of the numbers were any reason for concern. I saw her after my 2nd bloodwork results. My nerologist reviewed my last bloodwork results and said the same. Most people never have the extensive bloodwork that we BFS'ers have, so they go through life not knowing that they have abnormal bloodwork, mild neuropathy, carpal tunnel ect.... Hence the saying "Ignorance is bliss". If I have rheumatoid arthritis, but I dont have joint pain, does it really matter? Nope. Its good that you have bloodwork results simply for the fact that you can use them for comparison for future results. If any of the numbers get extremely high, your Dr. will know other things to check to determine what the cause might be. In the meantime, dont waste your time (like I did) being concerned about your recent results. It really isnt worth it. We (BFS'ers) try to pick every little thing apart trying to determine what horrible disease we have.Fact is, we probably cause way more damage to our heart due to stress worrying about all of this other relatively benign crap. Try and relax and dont let any of this ruin your holidays, or the rest of your life for that matter. Congrats on the emg results. Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions. Take care
