EMG Results Worrying Me

I have been twitching a lot lately in my legs with back pain leg weakness and funky feeling mouth. It's freaking me out. I went and got the EMG report from my neuro and when I read it I got even more scared. My emg says I have increased amplitudes and decreased recruitment in my abductor pollicus brevis? and evidence of carpal tunnel in my right hand. The report does say that it appears consistant with my L4-L5 disc bulging and the carpal tunnel showed on the nerve conduction. Ahh, I wish it would have just been totally clean. I asked my neuro multiple times about *** and he just says " no way, nothing indicating that". My back has been hurting latley with all this twitching and now I feel weird when I eat or drink. I never choke or anything just have dry mouth and my mouth feels off. I also know I am analyzing my every move. I have been twitching for over 4 months and leg weakness/ shakiness I can still walk and run though I don't run. If I include my back pain it's been about 8 months. What do you guys think. Anyone been down this road.It was weird too, I had a good 2 weeks were I was feeling better. No feet cramping, went out to eat and realized I didn't even notice my mouth feeling different, my foot & leg felt almost normal too( no cramping & stronger feeling leg) Who knows?

I am not a doctor, but don't see anything in your post that concerns me. I think it's gone unanswered because your symptoms are so familiar to all of us. Read some of the helpful articles the moderators have posted, if you haven't already. A neurologist can usually spot ALS immediately. Your neurologist didn't just say "No, you don't have ALS" but " Absolutely..NO WAY!" Reasurring words, indeed. There are always meds, too, if you just can't handle the symptoms. I didn't want to go this route, but I had too. My sleeping was so affected by twitching and involuntary movements. Good luck.Terri

Thanks for the reply. I have been trying to be positive but I'm so stressed its crazy. My mouth feels weird and just off. I have been having this for going on 5 months twitching and 9 months to a year of back pain and bad anxiety. My muscles feel tight, I get crampy in my feet and calves which I used to not really get. I still haven't got a real "cramp cramp" but sometimes they feel like they are going to. The new mouth stuff has me freaked out. I've lost 15 lbs ( which I probably needed) and I can just feel anxiety when I eat, swallow and talk. My moth seems to be dry a lot. This sucks. I hope my neuro is decent. He is young but he has been very willing to test me for everything I was concerned about and definetly thinks my issues are stress related. I hope he's right.
