EMG Results: Quick & Accurate

I had an emg last thursday and the dr said it looked great. I have had 2 others by a different doctor and I noticed a big difference from my current neuro. The emg was quick. He tested my lower extremities, both legs. He did 4 or 5 needle sticks in each leg, can't totally remember. Anyway, It was so quick that I asked him why. He said that they have the latest emg technology and he was so familiar with the way the system works that they just don't take that long. This dr's practice is the best place to go here for mnd. Has anyone else experienced some dr's being fast on an emg compared to others?

German- how quick was it? Did they do a NCS as well? I just had both done at Mass General in Boston in July and the Ncs took about an hour and the EMG took about 30 mins. They needled my right arm, right leg, and back. I would trust what your doctor is saying to you. Don't question it, that will only cause unneeded anxiety. These guys know what they're doing!

the ncv took about 20-30 min, The needle sticks took about 10 min. The techs doing the ncv knew the people that did my other ncv/ emgs and they were kinda joking about them calling the other lady " the torturer". They wern't being jerks just trying to bring in som levity to the situation, but I was amazed at how much better this test was all the way around( less painful too). I will say that his equipment looked state of the art. Though I question the speed of the test, the dr's office is very on top of things. If I hadn't had another one to compare to, I wouldn't question anything. I think my new neuro is really good because of my own experiences with him and from his reputation. He told me after it was done that while the emg was a great indication of no mnd, he said the fact that I had no atrophy or weakness after a year was also huge as far as reassurance. All in all, he said again, he thinks that mnd is not a concern at this point.
