Eastern Medicine Solution to Symptoms?

Did anybody ever look at this our problem the Eastern medicine way? I have found very similar symptoms in something that is called liver energy block in Chinese medicine. Symptoms are: numbness, muscle pain, stifness, twitching, stomach and digestive problems... Seems familiar to me... But it is the blockage of the energy not the blood, so the western medicine does not see this in tests. The liver energy problem with being to low is usually caused by the ANGER feeling.I don't say I am a believer, but I am starting to believe western medicine can not help my condition or even diagnose it. I was at the doctor for feet today (we really don't have special doctory but he works in fisiatric work and sells foot orthontics, he should know feet quite good) about my pain, I walked in some special shoes. I do have some flat feet and put too much pressure on heel and big toe when walking, but all in all this is mild, he couldn't find any severe damage to my feet yet now even my right ankle hurts, same "bloody" muscle that goes from inner arch so I have trouble twitsing my feet inward because of the medial ankle pain I get :(I am finaly giving up any hope western medicine know what is wrong with me (I haven't even mentioned twitching in feet to the doctor), so I was looking at this Chinese medicine articles.I found another wierd theory about our souls leaving our bodies if they are hurt, at night so that is why I may have vivid dreams that make me more tired then rested in the morning... And I am shaking when my soul is returning to my body that is why I have tremor because the soul is returning to fast. Anyway, anyone can believe what he or she wants, this I don't "buy". The Chinese medicine on the other hand, seems promising, but in my country there are no such specialists.Anybody tried anything like this for our problems?

Thanx for clearing thqat up for me, I didn't do a good research on the topic, I just found a subject on morning trembling hands and that somehow "something" is returning to my phisical body the wrong way.

Hello, I am doing Chinese acupuncture for my BFS and back pain problems. I only did 2 sessions till now, however I will keep you posted how it goes. I can tell, that my back pain problems are almost gone, but as for Bfs and twitching, I think it may take longer. Nevertheless, they really take you as a whole and try to connect different parts aof your body and life... its weird, but the doctor (he is actually also a real doctor) I am going to, has a great references... I will report. :D)

I have tried chinese herbs and thought it would help clear out the heavy metal toxin's in the body. But so far I have had a bad experience, my fatigue and twitches got alot worse and they interferred with my AD meds.So at the moment i am on OMEGA 9 supplements, cutting down the caffeine and sugar intake, upping antioxident intake through diet only. Fingers crossed that it will help.. But most importantly i have tried to meditate regularly which has been help with my anxiety levels..Kate :)

I have a question, as I have health anxiety...What precautions should I take if I go to acupuncture that I won't get some infection? I've heard you can get pretty bad infection from the needles :(

No, those needles are single packed and sterile. They are very very thin too, I never heard of anyone getting an infection and acupuncture is a very common thing here.

So I must take care that they are single packed?I have Classic Chinese Medicine examination tommorow and I'll report how it goes. From what I read they look your eyes and tongue, which is wierd to me, but... I will put my thought aside and let it be...BTW Chrissi, does acupuncture hurts? Is this like preparation for EMG ;) If I live through acupuncture I will live through EMG, that kind of stuff? ;)

Ok, I went to the doctor. I think I svcare every doctor, either Eastern or Western :( When I told him all the symptoms I think he got scared, he told me I have so much problems that perhaps there is something wrong with my body. Of course there is. He has a sign that he heals from depression to sport injuries and infertility... HEALS...When I told him I allready went to the doctor he got more relaxed. He looked at my tongue and carefully metered my pulse with hand. He told mi I have Chi blockage in my liver and my spleen, but more on the liver. He told me he can not help me with the blockage to remove the cause of it, but acupuncture can relieve some of my symptoms. He suggested 20 therapies, one each day the first 10 and the others 3 times a week. He showed me the needles and I almost past out and I am not easily scared of injection and I have to give blood etc... The fu.... needles are 2 inch long! I asked if they go inside all the way and he told me somtimes, it depends where it goes...He just told me that the liver blockage emotion most usually associated with it is ANGER. He told me same as my therapist did :-&Man, I mean, if he gives me 10-20 needles long like this, how sore will I be the next day to get them again ??? This is like what, EMG x 10 then (I haven't been on the acupuncture nor EMG so I can not compare), but they looked quite scary. Then again, if it helps any ... it is worth it. And yes, the needles are single packed and new every time.Any experience from the acupuncture?I asked him if there are not some herbs for Chinese medicine and unfortunately they are not allowed in EU :((( I went to see what a liver blockage indications would be and I got really scared, it is like you are reading my problems:"Indications:Liver Yang uprising and internal Liver wind with Liver and Kidney Yin deficiency presenting with pounding headaches at the temples, behind the eyes, or top of the head, dizziness, vertigo, stiffness and pain in the neck and shoulders, parasthesias of the extremities including, numbness, twitching, tremors or spasms, convulsions, deviation of the mouth and eyes, tinnitus, hearing loss, blurred vision, visual disturbances, red complexion, facial and neck flushing, a sensation of heat rushing to the head, irritability, easily angered, tendency to feel warm and restless, insomnia, restless sleep, dream-disturbed sleep, thirst for cold drinks, dark or concentrated urine, constipation. Tongue: red, possibly stiff or trembling Pulse: wiry, rapid"I even have the tendency to feel warm that is why I am "suffering now at -15 celsius" and go to sauna regularly. And yes, even my tongue is trembling, evry muscle seems to be trembling when I put it on "half power" not "full power" flexion... And because the list is not very long (MS list had about 150 syptoms everybody can relate) I find that quite scary to list my symptoms like this... There really must be something with this energy flow... Only the pain of the muscles is missing...

Isn't that sad? Because of some stupid law you can not buy Tian Ma Gou Teng Wan in Europe any more :( Everything is sold out. I can buy it from some USA store I guess, but I'll pay custom like crazy as the postage itself for one bottle is 60 $ ??!?!?!?!?

Huh, thanx for the info, from the needles I imagined this must be painfull as hell... I guess the needles are very thin then.

I agree - the needles should give you no pain - maybe tingling and a slight electrical sensation if they are moved (they sometimes do this - twirl them or apply some sort of stimulation). I admit to closing my eyes the first time so maybe that might be a good idea? They are, after all, much smaller in thickness than a hypodermic of any kind and feel nothing like a shot. Do some deep breathing beforehand and relax your muscles as much as possible - it will make it easier to get a good response. I also found it very relaxing and found that each AP was different in approach and how well their session positively affected me. Bill - I've been meaning to get back to qigong also. It was the only thing beside sitting meditation that gave me real relief when symptoms were bad. Now I need it to keep me level (non-reactive to all the crap that goes on in my day). Time to dig out some books as I've forgotten so many of the exercises.....do you have any you like as the only ones I have are rather poor translations from Chinese?

Chinese medicine is definitely the way to go. That is where my holistic chiropractor got his acupuncture and energy medicine training. The thing that the Chinese acknowledge about the human body that western medicine ignores is the fact that we constantly have energy flowing through our bodies. The Chinese refer to these energy pathways as meridians. Emotional trauma, physical trauma, and even spiritual trauma can impact the energy pathways and disrupt the balance in our systems. This energy imbalance can lead to physical illness. When western medicine treats these illnesses with drugs, they only mast the symptoms but do not address the underlying cause.

The Chinese doctor told me I have a liver meridian blockage and to less extent spleen blockage of energy. He told me he can not cure the reason for the blockage, but acupuncture and some herbs can ease the symptoms. Cause of the liver chi deficiancy is many times anger, he told me.He advised me to get Tian Ma Gou Teng pills also, as they release the internal wind, which are the symptoms I am experiencing. Liver blockage causes internal wind which is more severe problem than the liver Yang rising. But he told me he can not cure me.
