Don't Worry About ALS - Get an EMG!

Dude, you don't have ALS. I'm not God, but I'm smart, and I don't think you have it with those symptoms. Just go to a neuro and get an EMG if you are so worried. Make him do it. I bet it turns out normal. And you hear these stories about people have undetected ALS or whatever, but how credible are they? Do we really know all the circumstances involved? Maybe someone administered a faulty EMG or ignored symptoms. Go get some exercise bro and if you're a spiritual man I'd recommend prayer.

Sorry, but I have a really hard time believing anyone with *** could be competing in an iron man contest..... There must be more to that story... or a mistake..... Get an good neuro exam done and rest your mind....
Take care

John Blais really was diagnosed with ALS before he participated in (and finished) the 2005 Ironman Triathlon. A year later, at the 2006 Ironman, he was in a wheelchair. Please keep this in mind when you worry about ALS two or three years after you first started twitching. If you had ALS (and you almost certainly don't), you'd go downhill. If you "had it" in July, you'd notice a lot more now, six months later. Your neuro would notice it too.

The fact that someone could be diagnosed with ALS and still complete a triathlon is good news for those who don't trust your neuro. Blais's neuro was able to (correctly) diagnose ALS even in someone with plenty of strength left. Don't you think your neuro might be able to do the same thing? If not at the first visit, changes over time would certainly be noticed. If your neuro says you almost certainly don't have it, take his/her word for it.
