Hi,Does anyone here take Nortriptyline (Pamelor) for BFS symptoms? It is a tricylic anti depressant. When I went into my neuro he advised that I take two capsules at bedtime for around 2 months to see if that improved my symptoms of twitching and jerking. The thing is, he didnt say WHY he thought the antidepressant would work, or what he hoped to accomplish...meaning I know some Drs will give meds to figure out if a person has a certain disease. The Nortriptyline is helping me greatly and I am happy about that, but I am scared that this might mean I have something bad, like Parkinsons or an MND.To those of you who might be on this medication...is it simply to calm you down? I asked him if it was to help with anxiety and he said No, it was to help calm the nerves down which to me is pretty much the same thing. LOLThanks for any insight you can give...........I am confused and am hoping that the fact that the Nortriptyline helped me is a GOOD sign, not a bad one.
