Hi guys, I was just wondering: IF you for some reason have something autoimmune going on in your system (which in my case could explain my sore joints) then how is it diagnosed?Bloodsamples? Is it possible at all to perform tests to diagnose it? Are doctors looking for raised levels of something?/P

Autoimmune disorders can b diagnosed generally by detecting autoantibodies in blood.Autoantibodies damage our own body considering it as foreign body. There r different autoantibodies depending on different types of autoimmune disorders. If u want to rule out autoimmune arthritis ,commonly known as rheumatoid arthritis,u can check R.A. factor in ya blood.I will suggest u to consult ur family dr n go as per his advice .As i am a M.D. physician, felt necessary to post this knowledge which might help u.Take care..................baily

HiOkay I want to tell you I went on this hunt too. I went to a allergist/ immunologist. Do you suffer from allergies or sinus stuff. As I do and have all my life severly. So I always wondered about my immune system. I also have eczema.Whe I went I told him about all my neurological symptoms along with allergies. He did allergy test by punch test. I turned out to be allergic severly to seasonal stuff.Ok. He did a blood test that I have never heard f before called HISS panel. It checks for imunedeficiancy and checks status of your vaccines. It turns out my IG e are ver ver elevated which he said goes along with my allergies and says thy My immune Systom is crazy!! So does his answer! Possibly. He wants me to take this to neuro and my gp to further investigate as other things can elevate it.Plus I am getting my stool test done by entrolAb for celieac. My blood test was negative. But that's not good confirmed by it self.I think there is definitive Autoimmune going on.Fan

BarbieWhat antibody test did they do for you.I had tpo and tsi.I had tsi and it was at 30. It's in normal range but people In thyroid board tell me a normal person should not have tsi at all. So will check with endo.

PeterOne more thing.Have you had your vitamin d checked.I am severly deficient. As a lot of autoimmune people are.So another clue perhaps. The thing is I wish these dogs oh oopps I mean docs ;)Will look at us as whole and not one thing at a time.
