Diabetes Symptoms - Tingling/Burning?

TwitchvilleGuys have any of you heard of this that Fasciculation’s and tingling, burning like sensations in the hands and feet are symptoms of diabetes I am grossly overweight at 220lbs on my little 5’7 inch frame, both parents are diabetic.Today I saw the Doctor and told her about my suspicions of me being diabetics she gave me one of those looks again she thinks I am a hyperchrondiac ‘looking at you records you were here in January and you self dianogise you self as having Benign Fasciculation Syndrome now you are telling me you think you are Diabetic, I must advise you to stop looking ailments on the internet’ Yep this is type of rudeness I get when I see my Doctor I did not say any thing to her as I really just believe she wants me to lash out something which I will not do. Anyway I got to fast from midnight then get my blood sample taken at the clinic following morning personally I do believe I got diabetes or peridiabetes at leastIt strikes me as odd the peripheral neuropathy which I thought I had might turn out to be Diabetic neuropathy which would also the eyesight problems I have been getting like flickering, floaters and shadows which is characteristic of Diabetic neuropathy and not Peripheral Neuropathy.

I saw an endocrinologist early on during my BFS/myoclonus journey. He mentioned diabetes and thyroid issues can cause fasiculations and neuropathy ---but only if your TSH levels and/or glucose levels are abnormal. I've known I've had Hashimoto's thryoidits for several years, but my TSH level remains normal. So, I am not being treated with thyroid medication. (Yay! One less medication for me.) My glucose reading was one point above normal and always is. I asked if this meant I was borderline diabetic. He said he didn't believe in borderline diabetes. You either have it or you don't. He recommended I see a neurologist.Again, this is just one doctor's opinion. I have since heard he is planning to retire so, there may be newer information available. It sounds like you are taking the proper steps.

Actually diabetes does not cause fasciculations can cause diabetic neuropathy which is just..neuropathy with all its symptoms including twitching. But in this case your twitching would not be widespread.
