Dealing with Pain from BCFS (Brain Fog Syndrome)

Nick, You love talking about pain? That's a little unusual, even around here ;)

When I had my worst episode of BCFS back earlier this year I had muscle and joint pain as well. It comes and goes as with the other syptoms. if you are very anxious, you are probably hypervigilant to any sensation you are having. I was also found to be anemic and iron treatments did help with that kind of pain. You may have many interacting conditions that, while benign, may be causing your pain.

It does sound like Fibromyalgia, but Kit or your MD would have to weigh in on that and I think Kit's out I hope having a lovely birthday dinner, so I'm sure she'll get back to you when she can

Fatigue, aches, pain, cramping, twitching, jolting, buzzing, all typical of many cases of BFS/BCFS, so please try not to worry.

Take Care,

Zack: I had almost daily face/cheek bone pain for a couple of weeks straight. Before that, it was in my fore arms and lower thumbs/heels of my hands. At night, it was in my shoulders and upper right arm. It all stopped when I started taking magnesium/calcium/zinc supplements a few weeks back. So far, the symptoms remain abated as far as the pain goes. The fascics reduced but are still present, daily. I don't know if this is due to chance, placebo effect or the normal fluctuations of these symptoms. I am still working on additional tools for dealing with it all. Seems this is quite "normal" for the variant patterns of BFS/BCFS. Hope this helps.

Am having various aches and pains all over as well....like you unsure if muscular or joints but think is a mixture of both. Main aches at moment are bottom of feet, thumbs, forearms and also upper jaw(both sides)!

Oh the joy :(

Ha ha.

I...uh....love when I can get support or knowledge about pain and pain treatment. I don't love HAVING pain.

And of course, my message above assumes that your pain is persistent (hence the might). I probably should not have assumed that.

Okay sorry guys for being a little late on the response for this one. Various pains that fluctuate and are not in any particular pattern or can be localized to a specific muscle are not uncommon in BFS. From what I have been able to glean from this site as well as from personal experience, yes I have had these pains, it is likely that you have a "cramp variant" of BFS. So it goes beyond just the twitching and vibrating. Remember this condition means that your nerves are somewhat hyperexcitable as are the muscles so you can have ANY nerve sensation with this condition. So that means any or all of the following:
burning, stabbing, sharp, achey, vibrating, tremor, shaking, weak, crampy, pain, tense, twitchy and the list goes on.

So again I apologize for being late and not seeing my "page" but yes, the pain that you are describing is very much typical of this condition.
Kit
