Daniel, I honestly can say that I am so totally proud of you *hugs*. To the newbies: Daniel was really scared, I mean really really really damned scared when he got all this crazy stuff. He did weird things a lot that might have apeared a bit...strange maybe. But as he was such a kind and warmhearted person with a good sense of humour, I was hoping really much he would get over this one day. But honestly Daniel, the progress you made and finally now the good state you are in , I would not have expected in that relatively short time. You worked a lot on yourself and your anxiety. That is great. An even more that you share your tipps here. *hugsagain*So guys, listen to daniel as well as the oldtimers, they show you how to fix the fear, only the work itself has to be done by yourselves ;)

one of the best tips I read was from Raindog who said something along the lines of "go out and find yourself some mates and enjoy yourself". In particular, when I am around my sister it calms me down because she absolutely won't let me "go there". And I always enjoy myself when I am with her.

Hey Danielgreat thread...and thanks for referencing me!! :D) I really like the idea that my little quest could be helpful for others.I would like to contribute a little technique to direct your thoughts from the inside to the external world. It's the sensory perception countdown.Basically you explain to yourselves what you are seeing, hearing and feeling and count backwards while doing it.So you would count5 - I see a blue bird on that birch tree across the street.4 - I see a red car in front of the barber shop.3 - ... etc. down to 1Then continue with what you hear.5 - I hear a Bird singing.4 - I hear a woman laughing behind me.3 - ...etc.Then describe to yourselves what you feel.5 - I feel warm wind on my face.4 - I feel my belt buckle on my belly.3 - ...etc.You could go on with what you smell or you would just start over.Keep going until your focus has shifted and until you feel calmer.Obviously, describing what you perceive from your own body is a no - go.So, don't focus on twitches, aches, pain, body noises, etc. Only perceive things from outside your body. This little technique shifts the focus from internal to external and the counting keeps your mind busy.It won't cure you from anxiety in an instant but I have found it helpful from tome to time.

Daniel, I echo everything Chrissi said. You have done amazingly well in the past year and the newer twitchers on here can look to you for a recent success story. You were one of the quickest people I've seen to say *beep* you to BFS and punch it in the face, lol. You da man Daniel! -Matt
