Cymbalta for Anxiety: Experiences?

Has anyone had experience with Cymbalta for anxiety? My neurologist prescribed it to me for my anxiety and gave me Mag-Tabs ( Magnesium ) to help with the twitching. However, I feel that my clean bill of health was the best medicine :) Anyways, if you have taken Cymbalta, how well did it work for you?

Cymbalta can be compared to LEXAPRO- I hate LEXAPRO therefore I would hate cymbalta, I think if you feel great then you dont need Cymbalta!!!!

Hey-Both of my neuros said that any SSRI can increase your symptoms. I was having burning in my arms and legs and WAY increased twitching and could not sleep. I have had them all. Cymablta, Effexor, Lexapro...everything pretty much. Once you get past "I dont have ALS"....its easier to deal JUST with the twitches as opposed to the side effects of SSRI's. At my last neuro visit she told me that magnesium would only help if you were running low, beasides that NOTHING will help or slow or stop the twitches. So hang in there....but if you get past worrying about ALS then you can live with the twitches and ignore them (yeah right) =)

Very truthful.Too much Mg doesn't help me. On contrary it induces me more fasciculations. Only sublingual Mg dramatically reduced my cramps and a little bit of twitching which are mainly in my legs and feet. Oral, sublingual, Mg is resurrection for me. I am very satisfied taking one German product on daily basis.

Cymbalta just about put me over the edge. I took 4 doses and spent two days in bed sick as a dog. I take a low dose of prozac now. My dr recently cut the dosage in half and a lot of the twitching and weird sensations slowed down. If you are not experiencing high levels of anxiety now, then I would not use an SSRI medication----of course you should discuss this with you dr. Glad to hear you are doing better.Cindy
