Coughing Fit after Tiny Irritation?

Not sure if this is BFS related or..so maybe others can tell me...I have this super super sensitive throat. If there is any, even a tiny bit of an irritation I have a coughing fit..that just seems to get worse the more I cough. If a little bit of fluid that goes down the wind pipe, and I mean a tiny little bit.. it just starts a coughing fit. Anyone else had or having this? And I must admit, the constant throat clearing thing has come back as well. Maybe related? I have also been having acute pain in my big toe during my 'sleep time'-like someone stabbing my big toe with a needle. Wakes me up. Doesn't help when trying to get some sleep! Anyone else getting or had this? This is a newy for me The twitching I have mostly got 'used to' but this other stuff...... Is there never any end to this crap cuRodger

Aussie, I have recently had the Big Toe pain. It was also at night when trying to sleep. It friggin HURTS! I also got it in one of my fingers, don't remember which one. It's very painful. Have no idea if it's related to BFS.....

That was the first symptom a guy I knew had (severe big toe pain) - he was Dx'd with gout. Supposedly it is on the rise in the general populace in the US and some with a decent diet can still get it (inherited tendency).
