COPING with OCD During Pregnancy

Hey Twitchers! , Just an update.. My gyno/gp told me to see a psychologist about my obsession / OCD with ***. Because apparently no matter WHAT my doctor said and no MATTER the odds I still believed I was going to be the .001%.Being Im pregnant Im limited to things I can take HOWEVER...the Psych kept me on Prozac 20mg. (which has helped dramatically) AND kept me on the Klonapin for sleep or "as needed". When I mentioned to him about the random twitching here and there..he said that SSRI's such as Lexapro, Effexor, and I believe Celexa causes that. Its NOT uncommom. Those words right there helped me a lot. Because each time I have had these bouts of twitches I was on LEXAPRO. Over the summer when I just took my a.d.d medication Medidate and Klonapin (for anxiety) I had NOOOOOO TWITCHING! Anyhow- so I highly recommend Prozac and Klonapin. My twitches have minimized GREATLY..(gosh I really dont want to toot my on horn to soon...! or count my eggs before they hatch but when you feel good you feel good!) I was also referred to a Pscyhologist to help me w/ this OCD and Anxiety. Apparently a lot of peoplt that "twitch" have OCD.Anyhow, just a experience I wanted to share w/ you guys!! Any feed back is GREAT!!!! (today i have actually been able to count on 2 hands how many times I've twitches- AMAZING!

Hi Lovely!I have been on Lexapro since early October for my anxiety and it really has helped me a great deal but yes I have widespread twitching all over which is also 24/7 in my calves. My doc has not mentioned anything about Lexapro causing twitches, but having said that he didnt know anything about BFS either and he has been practising for 30 years! Isnt that weird!! Warm regardsSandra

No, you are not a nut. I see a psych and it was the best thing I ever did. I have been on prozac for over 3 months. I did really well on 20 mg, but when they upped my dosage to 40mg, I started twitching really bad. I am back at 20mg and am doing much better also.Lexapro really put me over the top. So much that I only used it for 6 days. Hope you continue to stay as good as you are, especially with a little bundle of joy coming.Cindy

I shouldn't worry about OCD it is just par for the course with us obsessive worriers, if it weren't twitching it would be something else. For me it is just another postnominal to add to my alphabet soup of acronyms.
