Constant Twitching, Anxiety & Health Concerns

hiIM 31. My incessant twitching all over my body from calves to ankles, hands, abdomen (flutters there) and back , tongue for the last 2 months has led me and my medical knowledge to the dark conclusion I had ALS. I felt all my muscles, especially my right sided ones were getting less bulky. This has all coincided /started folloiwing a gastro virus and severe anxiety relating to my health with other non neuro symptoms. I saw 2 neurologists last month, a month after I noticed the fasciics/twitching. They both independently did EMGs - 1 tested 3 muscles in the right leg, the other 1 muscle in the R leg, 1 muscle in the R arm- the result they said was normal, with normal nerve conduction. Over the last month Ive felt like its harder to use my R leg but I can walk 40 minutes without tripping. Also, my fatigue and aching in my legs is so bad especially 1st thing in the morning or after very minimal exercise. Ive been relentlessly testing myself every day all over and now I have new soreness. I also feel its hard to swallow my phlegm.I am anxious 24/7 over the last 6-8 weeks to the point where my eating/sleeping/work has severely suffered. Ive read a lot on this site -could this really be just BFS and not ALS?

yes. this is bfs. Welcome to the forum. Everything you listed in your post can be found over and over by others on this site. I'm so glad you found this site. It has been an enormous help to me and to many others here.I found that my anxiety lessened almost immediately after reading the entries of others here. You have had EMGs that came back as normal. This means that YOU DO NOT HAVE A Neuromuscular disease! You must believe this. Try to relax.Use the search function here to find other posts that relate to your symptoms. You will find literally hundreds of others who have had the same symptoms and who are fine!Welcome. You are in the right place.Best,Beth

First of all greetings from Europe, Croatia. Just watching Australian Open enjoying the game, laughing inside reading your post. You have anxiety like all others in the world. Every normal person is a little bit nervous. In my oppinion anxiety is immanent condition to everyone; more or less. You have done TWO (2) EMG tests interpreted as NORMAL! Period. You don't have any nasty desease except hyper sensibility over surrounding life. Sorry for all grammar errors. I think you will get the point.

hi! you will notice soreness more, because you are "testing" things that you normally don't "test", & probably "testing" with great frequency. you're probably "testing" your swallow reflex, too, whether you realize it or not. the old throat muscles/tissues are really soft & can get tight/sore easily. been there, done that!!! add anxiety to the mix, which just tightens your throat more....just keep reading the posts, old & new, so many have experienced what you are :)
