Constant Ringing in Ears, Achey Joints

In the past I've had occassional ringing in my ears that comes and goes. I know I have posted before and others have had the same. This time I have constant low pitch ringing in my ears (for a couple of days). It is almost like the morning after being at a super loud concert. I've also been feeling worse. My muscle cramps are quite painful and my joints hurt. Has anyone else had this constant ringing in their ears.

Yes. Coupled with a sore jaw? Tenseness in temples? Sound familiar? Hope yours doesn't go the route mine did (blinding headaches). What helped was to get to a physical therapist for a therapeutic massage (partially covered on most health plans) and best yet cranial-sacral therapy. You can do a facial head massage yourself if you know the pressure points; it's no where near as good but much cheaper. Oh, yes another thing that temporarily helped it stop - a very warm bath - submerge to nose, breathe deeply.

The local neuro I saw with a PhD in Neurobiology from Johns Hopkins asked me if I had ringing in my ears. He was trying to blame all my symptoms on hyperventilation syndrome. He said ringing in your ears is a classic sign of it. I wished I had it so it would explain what is going on with me but I don't. Not saying this is what is going on with you but thought I'd pass on the info in case it is helpful.Krackersones

Krackersones - That is interesting. My neuro also asked me if I had ringing in my ears. At the time I didn't so I told him "no". It was afterwards that it started for me but I wasn't sure why he asked if I had ringing in my ears.

Also, my sister had a major period of anxiety issues a few years back. She had panic attacks etc. She told me that during that time she frequently had ringing in her ears.
