Concern Over ALS Symptoms?

I'm really scared, because my tongue twitches non-stop and I've got teeth-marks on the sides. Furthermore, I twitch a lot in my throat and around my neck and shoulders. Now I've read that someone with ALS had similar tongue-problems as an early symptom (started on one side, sides looked like they were carved by a carving-tool, then spread to the other side and went vermicular after that...). My tongue looked like this at least for four years when I first took a photo of it, and the darn twitch goes on for 12 month now... I don't know what to think...
 
OK, first of all.......none of your other symptoms points to ALS. Now you fear bulbar because your tongue is twitching and you have teeth marks.....I saw your tongue twitches, they look absolutely like the stuff I have and many others said that too. Bulbar tongue twitches look completely different. I have seen a video of it and it is not at all like that fasciculation you have there. And your teeth dents... first of all, before your tongue starts to athrophy enough to be visible, you would have serious serious weakness in your tongue. Vanished muscles cannot move. And always weakness before athropy. Whatever you have read about this guy, he cannot have had tongue athropy without definate problems speaking. Fact. And bulbar ALS has the fastest progression of all....so if anything bulbar had started 4 years ago, you would be dead by now. And not surfing the internet for ALS stories what you really should not do because it is wasting your time.
 
Thanks crissi...You're probably right, and I'm just going through another anxiety-peak right now. This all started again because we're about to buy a house, I guess.Two years ago, I was totally convinced that I couldn't talk normally anymore and that I sounded like a drunk. Then I stumbled upon the "Anne Will"-crew (a popular talk-show in Germany) begging me to give a statement for a street-interview. So that evening, I saw myself on national television. Talking like a normal, sober person :).
 
I am just starting to get random tongue twitches too. They don't go 24/7, but maybe a little twitch once in a while during the day. I hate it. And, I also have teeth marks, but in my case, I know 100% it's because of my bruxism. Do you clench your teeth? If so, I am positive that's why you have teeth marks.You are totally fine, if this has been going on for 12 months!!Relax a little and know that you're not alone, as scary as these symptoms can be.Mitra
