Complaining About Sleep Starts

Sleep starts suck and have been a huge issue with me since this garbage started. Either you have them were your limbs jerk really hard before you drift off to sleep or your whole body can jerk and you sometimes fly up gasping for air. They mostly happen rite as you drifting off to sleep and they are no fun, so if you are not having them, consider yourself lucky. BFShopeful may have a different description but this description is how I have experienced mine, but everyone is a little different of course.Take careRobynn :D)

Oh, yes, the dreaded falling and hitting sensation with that jerk awake - glad I don't get them anymore. When I did, I looked them up and the best advice was to avoid stimulants (sugar, alcohol, caffeine) close to bedtime (timing depends on your metabolism - I had to quit before 4pm) and to try taking a taurine mid-day. That and doing a bit a meditation just before sleep helped. BTW it is estimated that 60-70% of people get them so it is not unusual unless they are constantly disturbing you and causing sleep deprivation. They don't even wake up a lot of people - they did me, but I've seen others in my family have them and remain asleep. So even though they woke me when I was irritated with pnhe most probably I've always had them and they just never bothered me much.

Perfect descriptions. I had them my whole life, but only bothersome after BFS. Now they start and I can't fall asleep. Every single time they come, I have to take Valium to get to bed because if I don't they wake me every time I start to fall asleep. I stayed up 3 days once. No BS. I haven't had them in a while, but last night back with a vengence. 10mg of valium and good night.

I feel for you, I really do, I know how bad they suck, I have had them where they happen anywhere from 3 to 5 times before I actually get to sleep. Mine are quite disturbing and at times they have been a little violent to where my hubby was scared to share a bed with me at times, I was actually hurting him at one point because some nights I would jump up so hard and fast, I would hit him on accident, but they are not fun. I started drinking a little night time concoction of very warm milk, honey, cinnamon and vanilla every night before bed. It did not get rid of them all together but it has drastically cut them way down,Hope you can get some relief soon.Take CareRobynn :D)
