Without true weakness and atrophy it's pretty irrelevant what your twitches are like, where they started, where they went, how many you get a minute, if you get ones you can feel, ones you can't feel, ones you can see and ones you can't see, ones that pop, ones that jerk, etc etc....
I drove myself mad trying to analyse my twitches and looking for that certain answer on internet sites that would confirm my particular twitches were not ALS.
From what I have read (and I read quite a lot at my low points!) I think in ALS it''s less likely that the twitches would move all over the place.
Mine started in my calves and feet and then I got hotspots that lasted from a day to a month in different parts of my body. I think I have had every type of twitch imaginable.
Like everyone else on here, and I am sure just like you, I have BFS.
Calves twitching is very, very common in BFS.
Try not to worry about it if you can - I 've found that's easily the best way of reducing the twitching.
I wish I'd been able to stop my worrying because I will never get back the 4 months I spent obsessed with ALS.
I hope you manage to avoid what I went through and get on with enjoying your life.
Take care.
