Change in Twitching Symptoms Worrisome

I asked it this before but didn't get any clear answers.I'm twitching for 14 months, 24/7 in calves. I've been to a neuro and had EMG in the first month of twitching: dx BFS.Now I'm having CRAMPS in my calves, but really with every step I take. This really freaks me out because I read this here on te BFS FAQ'S: Also, if you experience any change in the symptoms that you are experiencing, you should immediately make your Neurologist aware of these changes as they may be indicative of other underlying symptoms. Are the cramps change in symptoms? Do I have to go to an neurologist immediately? I thought if you had been dx with BFS it doesn't progress into *** ? Please help.

Don't worry. I'm going through the same thing. Twitches first, then crampy/tightness. I ran more normal run two weeks after the twitches started and whammo...was all tight and have been feeling calf and hamstring cramping/spasms ever since. I don't think there's anything to your presentation of twitching then cramps months/year later. I woke up this morning more demoralized than ever, twitching all over as I lay there. I've got my emg tuesday and neuro apptmnt friday. Be glad you've been cleared once. I've been told by my PCP that he doesn't know what I have but thinks its benign and is certain its not ALS. Even that assurance hasn't been enough to ease my mind. Anyway, I decided today enough babying this bullcr*p cramping and odd symptoms, I'm going to ride my bike. I took the 2 year old on the back and took off. It felt like pedaling through cement the first 5 minutes and then I just started pedaling away, full speed. I had odd pains and crampy feelings and after about 2 miles out I felt fatigued and a little sore. But instead of looking at it like something's wrong or I've lost endurance, I looked at it as this was good exercise and was helping me feel better, would help me get stronger. Anyway, I made it back (probably only went 4.5 or 5 miles total) but it was a big step up from the walking around for a half hour I did yesterday at my kid's soccer practice that left me tired. Today was better than yesterday. That's got to be some kind of good news. If you can get out and walk or run or be on your feet and you're not falling over or dropping over with exhaustion or spasms, I'm guessing you're okay. As Bill Murray said in What about Bob...Baby steps.

Do not worry. In terminology of Croatian Neurologists it's called BENIGN CRAMPS. Usually benign cramps are in association with benign fasciculations. Try with Magnesium.
