I have twitched for 13 months so far and tomorrow will be my second birthday with this condition. I will be 28. I dont know if I am gonna have further birthdays in upcoming years. Sometimes I feel relax and sometimes extremely anxious. Previously I was doing strength tests with my friends and they were laughing at me. Now a days, I have bought a reflex hammer and started checking my own reflexes. Furthormore, I just wanted to see if I am able to gain weight as at some point I thought I lost due to muscle atrophy. But yeah, I managed to gain 9 kgs in three weeks. See, what a healthy mind!!! I feel like a KFC chicks expanded with growth hormones. What do you think guys? Will I live long enough to see my 40th birthday with my future wife and children?

I predict you will celebrate many more birthdays Korikos as long as you get that anxiety under control. I'm 12 years older than you and please take it from me, nothing ages you faster than chronic stress and anxiety, it proven. You have had 3 clean EMGs and perfect clinicals, you are golden, and free to drop ALS (or any other Neuro disease) from your radar. You got BFS, it sux, but it will not shorten your life.Happy Birthday friend, celebrate it and look forward to many more to come.Take careRobynn :D)

Hey dude,Helll Yeaaah you'll see many more birthdays...28yrs old, 13 months of twitching? HOME AND DRY there aint nothing fatal going on with ya!Do me a favour throw that reflex hammer in the bin. Do it now. Your being unbelievably stupid owning one.Darragh

Hey DarrI did not throw the hammer but I moved my house to elsewhere last weekend and it got lost during the move :))) Thanks to both of you guys, Darr and Mummy, We will all have long and healthy lifes, with the ones we love next to us.

Relax. I'm a therapist and work in a large rehab facility. I've had BFS for at least a year with fasciculations, vibrations, and tremors over my entire body. I've seen numerous cases of ALS, and was the first clinician to recognize the symptoms in about 8 patients during my career. It's a rapid progression of weakness, dysphagia (swallowing) dysarthria (speech) that may or may not be accompanied by fasciculations. Fasciculations without clinical weakness are meaningless. You're one year post symptoms. You do not have ALS. You're young. Enjoy your life even if you have to twitch and jerk the whole way.
