Carpal Tunnel: Persisting Twitch

HiI posted a few days ago about a palm twitch between my wrist and my pinky. I still have it. Been to GP and he thinks it is carpal tunnel related and is not concerned or so he said. I don't believe him. I told him that and what I was worried about and he said that in a medical exam yes if you were to put a differential diagnosis the dreaded would be the tiny small print he wasn't concerned so I shouldn't. then I come on here to calm myself about not believing him and read the about posts etc where it says that bfs starts in fingers etc or wherever but then further down it says that the dreaded normally starts in the hand. I am now so seriously FREAKING out can someone please help calm me down. I have 2 small children and am 38 year old female. I cant stand myself any more this is utterly hideous.

Looking at ALS, noone cares about twitching. ALS often starts distally, but tjis does not mean TWITCHING but weakness. Hands are usually BFS hot spots and nothing to worry about

Goo GOD, ALS has about 5 different types of onset and can start in hand, leg, leg and hand etc. and in rare cases even right from the bulbar stage befor the rest. Please trust the doctor.

You are very kind and knowledgeable thanksso much. I now have a twitch in my shoulder same side as bad hand guess this could still be ulnar nerve? What hell :'(

I too am worried about a constant hand twitch right below my thumb, on the thenar and I get an EMG Monday. mine worries me because its often so small yet constant. I went to the ER and got some Xanax which is keeping me sane until monday. I read that fascics are not uncommon with cases of cts or other nerve compression issues, so it's a good chance that you and I are just dealing with nerve compression. Thoughts and prayers for us both my dear, God willing it is all benign.

Emmie I'm sure you will be just fine, my ortho said twitches with nerve irritation and compression common, one per week for him compared with 1 als in 20 years as a consultant, stay strong xx

I actually just talked to a cousin of mine with something similar to carpal tunnel and she says she gets pinky finger twitching which is pretty continuous until she wears her brace and takes ibuprofen for a while.
